With the twenty seventh pick in the 2018 Steven Ridley NFL Mock Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select:
Taven Bryan; Defensive Lineman from the University of Florida.
Meet the most athletcically gifted interior defensive lineman in the draft. While Vita Vea and Da’ron Payne are high quality athletes, Taven Bryan is the “freak” status of athleticism. Being able to -lay both on the interior and exterior is something that I am sure Dan Quinn will love about his game the same. However though, his greatest asset currently is his tenacity using said athletic abilities. While his motor stays running hot, it is his overwhelming physical gifts that win him the day against less technically sound offensive lineman. It is when you go up against NFL grade offensive lineman; namely ones like Andrus Peat or Evan Smith in your division, that is where Bryan runs into some issues. Never mind his toolbox is not even fully developed, but his over pursuit upon disrupting plays with his lack of situational awareness is what often do Bryan in. He is too reliant on his gifts to work on anything else. To his credit though, working in a defensive with the likes of Vic Beasley ad Gardy Jarrett commanding so much attention can allow you to showcase and play to your strengths more often than your opposition would like you to. Do I expect him to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award? No. Do I expect him to embark on a “Sophomore Surge” of sorts? Most definitely.
strength in the world means very little if your accuracy is not very good. Knowing this however is why Josh Allen is the number one pick as Dorsey is using 2018 as a redshirt year for Allen to learn the do’s and do not’s of the NFL. Once 2019 is here is where Dorsey and the Browns will hopefully see the fruition of a year’s worth of experience.

IF – AND IT’S A BIG “IF” – Mason Rudolph has a big day versus Baltimore the Steelers may have found theit franchise QB and it isn’t KP8. Mason’s been a hard luck guy since he was deafted and Ben was “insulted.” Ben is no rocket scientist but his physical gifts, history and hope combined to make Rudolph an afterthought for years.. Staing ready to play plus maturity may have combined to make MASON THE successor to Ben the Steelers truly need. If so, it settles a big question for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
