With the twenty first pick in the 2018 NFL Mock Draft, the Cincinatti Bengals select:
James Daniels; Center from the University of Iowa.
Leave it to Mike Brown to continuously short change “Who Dey Nation” time after time. Last year, signing Vontez Burfict to a contract extension was considered a great move. To do that though, Brown elected to let a top 10 guard in Kevin Zeitler walk in free agency; him becoming a Cleveland Browns player and Cleveland now having a young and talented offensive line as a result with Joel Bitonio, J.C. Tretter and Zeitler himself. This year? Allow Russel Bodine to leave; one of the league’s up and coming centers in a time where interior offensive line play is not very good. Luckily for Mr. Brown and Marvin Lewis, this draft features a very deep and talented interior offensive lineman class. One such person is James Daniels. While it is true that Iowa offensive lineman do come in a bit lighter than those of the South Bend, their techniques and scheme versatility are just as efficient. Add his length and his great athleticism and the Bengals have solved one major issue but still have two other major areas to fix.
