Matt Spaeth Returns To Practice Today

The Steelers have announced that Matt Spaeth is returning to practice today. During his press conference on Tuesday, Coach Tomlin mentioned that Spaeth may return this week after evaluation.

Now that Spaeth is back to practice, the team has 21 days to decide whether or not they will activate him to the active roster. If he was activated then, he would be in the mix to return for the Sunday night match up against the Bengals.

Jerome Bettis And Kevin Greene Are Hall Of Fame Semi-Finalists

The list of 25 remaining Pro Football Hall of Fame semi-finalists were announced tonight. Former Steelers running back Jerome Bettis and former Steelers linebacker Kevin Greene made the cut. Greene has been a Hall of Fame semi-finalist for the last seven years. The Bus was a semi-finalist last year, but ultimately did not get the 80% needed to make it in.

I’ll just leave this here.

NFL Shop Has 40% Off Already Reduced Steelers Items

The NFL Shop is offering 40% off on Steelers items that are already on sale this week, making for some pretty sweet deals. Personally, I got the KO Hoody and a sleeper for my daughter.

I was going to get this for my wife, but I don’t think she’d go for it.

Anyway, there’s lots of hats, hoodies, shirts and misc. to choose from. They’ll probably need to lower the Mike Wallace jerseys a little lower to sell any of those, though. 🙂

To get to the Steelers sale items, click on ‘Extra 40% Off’ and choose Steelers on the left hand side. There’s discounts on other teams too if you need a gag gift for a family member.

Browns Sign Former Steelers WR Reggie Dunn

The Cleveland Browns have signed former Steelers UDFA Reggie Dunn to their practice squad today. Dunn was with the Steelers during training camp, but was cut when the team did it’s final 53 man roster trimming . Dunn was signed by the Packers to their practice squad a couple times last month, but has since been a free agent. The Browns just promoted a WR to their active roster, so the move likely serves two purposes. Filling a positional need and signing a player who spent time with your upcoming opponent in training camp.

Colts Sign Former Steelers RB Chris Rainey

The Indianapolis Colts have announced that they have signed former Steelers running back Chris Rainey to their active roster today. Rainey was the Steelers 5th round draft pick in 2012, who had explosive speed, and was known for returning a punt or two for a touchdown.

Rainey was released from the team last Winter after being arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Many wondered if he’d ever get another shot at playing in the NFL, but the Colts have decided to take a chance on him. He ran a 4.3 40yd dash during a tryout with the Chiefs a couple months ago.

[Audio] Coach Tomlin’s Tuesday Press Conference

Coach Tomlin held his weekly press conference today. He talked about the win against the Lions, gave updates on Steelers injuries, spoke about the upcoming match against the Browns, running the no-huddle and much more. You can listen below.

Week 12 Steelers Injury Updates

Coach Tomlin gave his weekly injury updates today, and the outlook was good. He listed Stevenson Sylvester (hamstring) and Shamarko Thomas (ankle) as being further away than anyone else. “Those guys could be characterized at this point as doubtful”, said Tomlin.

Brett Keisel, Ramon Foster, and LaMarr Woodley are all considered to have a legitimate opportunity to participate in this week’s game, but their prepartion may be limited earlier in the week. Fernando Velasco and Kelvin Beachum, who both played in Sunday’s game, will also be monitored Matt Spaeth will also be evaluated to determine if he can return to practice.

Tomlin said Emmanuel Sanders is feeling a lot better than he did on Sunday, and he will be suited up for practice tomorrow. His participation will be their guide determining how he proceeds throughout the week.
