David DeCastro Returns To Practice

The Steelers announced today that David DeCastro will return to practice for the first time since he was injured in week 3 of preseason. He was placed on Injured Reserve on Sept. 7th, with the “Designation To Return” tag.

DeCastro had surgery to repair a torn MCL on August 29th, and also suffered patellar tendon damage, as well as a dislocated kneecap in the 1st Quarter of the preseason game against the Bills on August 25th. You can watch DeCastro’s injury again here:

DeCastro’s return to practice is faster than most people originally anticipated, at less than 85 days after his knee surgery. The team will have 21 days from today to add him to the 53 man roster or he’ll have to be placed on season ending IR.
