Inactives For Steelers Vs. 49ers

The Steelers host the San Francisco 49ers at Heinz Field today with a 1:00 pm kickoff. Here’s the list of inactives that have just been announced.

QB Landry Jones, WR Sammie Coates, CB Cortez Allen, OG Chris Hubbard, TE Jesse James, DE L.T. Walton and DE Caushaud Lyons.

Cortez Allen was battling a knee injury this week. With Allen out today, CBs Ross Cockerell and Brandon Boykin should see their first playing time as Steelers today.

For the 49ers:

WR B Ellington, RB R Bush, CB S Wright, OL B Thomas, NT N Purcell, C N Easton and LB C Lemonier.

Reggie Bush was ruled out by the 49ers earlier in the week due to suffering a calf injury in the 49ers season opener. Ellington and Bush are the 49ers main return men, so they will likely lean heavily on Jarryd Hayne to take the slack.

LT Will Beatty is coming off a surgery, and he missed their first preseason game. With Beatty out, Charles Brown will get his reps like he did last week during the Hall of Fame game. With Beatty out, Jarvis Jones should have an easier time tonight. With DT Mike Patterson out, Jonathan Hankins will get the start at LDT tonight.

The Steelers inactives are not out yet, but I’ll be posting them as soon as they become available.
