According to ProFootballTalk, Jarvis Jones will be released from the hospital this afternoon. While there isn’t an official update yet (and likely won’t be one for a while), PFT reports that the initial diagnosis is unspecific and classified as ‘some sort of internal bruising’. We’ll see if that holds true, but being released today is a good step in the right direction.

Jarvis Jones Leaves Stadium In Ambulance
Jarvis Jones was injured after recovering an interception in the 4th quarter against the Chiefs tonight. The hit didn’t look like much at first, but Jones was initially unable to get up, and walked to the sideline after being attended to by medical staff. After the game, Jones was taken out on a stretcher, and was taken to a local hospital via ambulance for further evaluation. Preliminary reports are that he is being treated for a chest injury. Here is a gif the play where he was hurt.

List Of Steelers Not Dressing For The Chiefs Game
The following players are not dressing for the Chiefs game tonight:
DeMarcus VanDyke, Le’Veon Bell, Isaac Redman, Larod Stephens-Howling, Isaiah Green, Sean Spence, Stevenson Sylvester, Justin Cheadle, Heath Miller, Matt Spaeth, and Nick Williams.
The main surprise on that list is Isaac Redman, who was expected by many to play tonight. Team sources said earlier that Felix Jones is expected to play for 10 to 12 plays tonight. He’s wearing #23. Cortez Allen, David Johnson, and Will Johnson all are playing tonight.
Steelers Trade LB Adrian Robinson For RB Felix Jones
Today the Steelers have traded Adrian Robinson to the Eagles for Felix Jones.
Jones, who was drafted one pick before Mendenhall in 2008, spent 5 years with the Cowboys before signing a one year deal with the Eagles in May. The former 1st round pick turned 26 in May, and averaged 4.8 yards per carry during his time with the Cowboys. He also has kickoff return experience, with a 23.9 yard per return average.
Robinson, who was signed as an UDFA out of Temple in 2012, was on the roster last year and active for 12 games. His chances of making the 53 man roster this year were slim.
I wouldn’t read too much into this acquisition. Jones isn’t a lock to make the roster, and the trade isn’t even official unless both men pass physicals today. Jones left the Eagles preseason game early last week with a rib injury, and has battled with ankle and knee injuries for much of his career.
Bill Cowher Dons Eyeliner In Music Video Appearance
Coach Cowher is seen sporting “Manliner” in a recently released music video titled “Cry Your Eyes Out”. The video is preformed by his girlfriend ‘Queen V’ and can be seen below. There’s a good closeup of “The Chin” at around 1:10 into it. While he does manage to pull off the goth-peasant look, I prefer him in a headset and black turtle neck personally. 🙂
Ryan Clark, Bettis To Be Contributors On ESPN
Starting this September, Jerome Bettis will be joining ESPN as a NFL analyst. The Bus already hosts his own show on WPXI on Saturdays. The season is scheduled to premiere September 7th at 7:00pm.

Also joining ESPN as a contributor is Steelers Safety Ryan Clark. Clark has made appearances on ESPN in the past, most notably on First Take, and expressed interest in a possible career in broadcasting after football. At the Super Bowl, he went as far as asking an ESPN producer if he could intern there.
“Whatever you need me to do, I will do. I want to be an ESPN NFL intern.”
The exact details of Clark’s involvement weren’t immediately available, but he will reportedly be an in-season and off-season contributor.
Isaac Redman Expected To Practice Today
Redman will practice today after leaving Monday night’s game early with a “stinger”. Assuming he’s good to go, Redman should be getting lots of carries Saturday night against the Chiefs. He is listed as co-starter on the depth chart again this week. When asked about Bell being hurt today, Redman said,
“I prepare week in and week out like I’m the No. 1 guy. Now, with Le’Veon down, I’ve got to step up.”
It will be interesting to get a good look at Redman Saturday night, and beyond that, to see who fills the starting role while Bell is sidelined.
Steelers Activate David Johnson From PUP
The team announced that TE David Johnson has been taken off the PUP list this morning. Johnson will return to practice starting today. With the depth at Tight End being an area of concern after Matt Spaeth’s injury, this is welcome news.

Le’Veon Bell Had MRI Tuesday, No Results Available Yet
The Steelers released a statement regarding Le’Veon Bell’s injury this morning. Coach Tomlin said in the statement that Bell did in fact have a MRI yesterday, but the team is still awaiting the diagnosis. Furthermore, the team is also waiting for the results of a second opinion. Bell is already ruled out of Saturday’s preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tomlin added in the statement that he will provide updates when they become available in the next couple days. You can draw your own conclusions, but generally minor sprains do not require second opinions.
Redskins Post-Game Injury Report
During the course of the Redskins game, the Steelers suffered a few injuries. Some very minor, others TBD.
Le’Veon Bell left the game early after a tackle by Barry Cofield, with what’s being called a mid foot sprain. Coach Tomlin said he will get a MRI tomorrow to determine the severity. Not to be an alarmist, but early rumors are that this may sideline him for weeks. Hopefully the rumors don’t prove true.
Terry Hawthorne left the game with leg cramps.
Baron Batch left with a stinger and did not return.
Will Johnson left the game due to a hit to the helmet by S DeJon Gomes. He was said to have suffered a rib injury from the hit and did not return.
I’ll update as soon as I hear an update on Bell and Johnson’s injury.
