Coach Tomlin addressed the media in Latrobe today, and announced that the following players would start training camp on the PUP list: Heath Miller, Sean Spence, David Johnson, and Alameda Ta’amu. Heath Miller and Sean Spence come as no surprise obviously, but David Johnson and Alameda Ta’amu are unexpected additions to the list. According to Tomlin, Heath, Spence, and Johnson are still recovering from their injuries. Ta’amu has a hamstring injury. No prognosis or timetable was given for their return.
There is good news, though. Mike Adams, who was expected to be on the PUP list, passed the run test today and has full clearance to practice starting tomorrow. It was not revealed whether or not he would be with the starting team, or to what extent he’ll participate.
Coach Tomlin also said that Ben Roethlisberger is experiencing slight discomfort in his knee, but says that it’s not a setback from his surgery in June.
A final note on the injury front today- Marcus Gilbert was carted off the field after the conditioning test. Initial reports indicated that he was crouched on the field for several minutes while team mates surrounded him, before finally being carted off the field. While it sounded worrisome, later reports alluded to it not being serious.
I've been told that Marcus Gilbert is in excellent shape. So I am figuring he will be just fine.

To clarify, no apparent injury to #Steelers Marcus Gilbert. He just looked pooped out after the run test and was carted off.

Tomlin was unaware that he was carted to the locker room during the press conference. We’ll certainly find out more tomorrow.
