Well a little research and the Ravens didn't draft at OT. I know they were talking to him

In 3 games vs. Pittsburgh in 2020, Garrett had 7 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 QB hit.

I have talked pretty extensively about dan moore in the draft section. He is the real deal as a LT.

My thought as well. With two firsts I thought they would take a tackle.

Stats do not tell the whole story.

The tape oh most definitely does; doubly so in the 2020 AFC Wild Card Game. Big Al played poorly.

One persons opinion does not shape mine good sir. I never said Chuks was elite at all. All I am saying is that Chuks is best served and would perform much better on that side than Big Al would in 2021. For that matter, Chuks is a natural Left Tackle by trade; his inconsistencies at Right Tackle not surprising to me.

I 'm thinking we better have help his way against good pass rushers. Didn't need that with AV most the time.

Hope he proves me wrong I just see it as a glaring weakness

Highly risky but yeah I hope this guy we took in the 4th round is starter material.

    Fingers crossed

    Fair enough!! :drinks:

Who knows though?! Dan Moore Jr might make this a moot point should he supplant Chuks. If that happens, yikes for Chuks!!

I feel, Al could give us one more year as a pass blocker. Say what you want, but I would feel better replacing only 2 starters on the line, in one offseason, instead of 3.

Ravens might sign him though, they took a guard in the draft, not a tackle.

So 5 people apparently feel the Steelers are good to go at left tackle with Okorafor.

Ok we'll see i hope you're all right.

We have a backup, a cast off, who got injured early last year, and two mid-round rookies.

It's all a moot point as AV is most likely signing with another team anyways.

Kind of stinks he won't count for a comp pick

It's not his inconsistency that bothers me the most. It is the way he is consistently shoved into the backfield on running plays.

Big Al and Pouncey were constantly getting pushed deep into the backfield. Please Steelers don't bring him back.

I agree. I personally feel the team is 9-8 or 10-7. But that's right now, today. Am I rooting for that? HELL NO! I prefer they went undefeated and win the Super Bowl. Please, prove me wrong. At the end of it all, I bleed black & gold. Besides, I need a new Super Bowl baseball cap.

Chucks at LT is a question mark, but he has to be better at this point than AV, all due respect. If they have a need for a tackle as a back up and can sign him for league minimum and he can maybe help the younger guys get better, that might not necessarily be a bad thing.

Ratbirds. They were just waiting post draft, ensure Steelers get no comp picks from signing him. Smart.

Did he officially sign today? I was just going to post that people shouldn't get their hopes up about bringing Villanueva back. There were multiple reports last week that it was a done deal, but the Ravens were waiting until after the draft to make it official.

I’m sure they don’t mind screwing the Steelers but its more so they don’t screw up their own comp formula.

AV, feiler, foster, finney, banner were all UDFA's or/and PS players, so mid round picks are a huge step up.:smiley1::cool:

had a friend call it Tomlin's best draft

I told him time will tell - revisit this after 2 seasons.

I don’t think he’s signed yet but they’re just getting the comp down so the Steelers don’t gain and they don’t lose. Until then, the Steelers still have a shot but it’s fairly obvious, post draft, they’ve moved on.
