He'll probably fall like one pick, to number 8 or something.

I can't see him falling to where we could get him, but if he does we need to take him. He just explodes off the edge, and consistently beats LTs both outside and inside. His run defense is not what you'd want in a 43 DE, but with a big 5 tech lined up inside of him there would be no problem. I've watched a lot of film on him, and he is special.

lol! Yeah, probably something like that, unfortunately for us.

If he is there for us, we should take him. We don't really need him for 5 months anyway.

Heck, we usually don't have our first round pick for his rookie season anyway ;)

I don't even want to think about the possibility that he might fall to us. I'm already gonna be a nervous wreck Thursday night without the hope that this could happen in the back of my mind. Then he goes 5 picks before us and I'm crushed. I''m resigning myself to the fact that he won't be there.

Yeah, I'm pretty resigned to that being the case as well. It's fun to muse about what-ifs, but I can't see how he gets past all of the 3-4 teams in the lower half of the top 10 that have edge rusher as need #1.

I'm wondering if it will even be anyone we are expecting, how many people had Shazier on their radar?

:lolol: I want to say, "Me too," but I don't have a cute way to do it, so I'll just sound like an ass.

But, me too. After Fuller went, I had it as a toss up between Shazier and Mosley. And trading down.

I know BadBoy had Shazier on his radar; I think he was his entire radar!

I think someone unexpected will fall to us, it usually happens every year. It's why I love the draft so much, because outside of the overall #1 pick nothing is ever certain.

In the McKay vs. Kiper three-round mock draft that came out Friday afternoon, Shane Ray fell to 29. Kiper selected CB Byron Jones for the Steelers. CBs Kevin Johnson and Jalen Collins were still on the board at 22.

Yeah I saw that too. That scenario would be upsetting to me for two reasons:

    1) Passing on Ray
    2) Taking Jones over Johnson

Passing on Ray would KILL me. I'd be dead on my couch on draft night from an aneurysm... Among Jones, Johnson and J. Collins it's a true toss up for me. They all have a chance to be solid NFL starters. KJ is probably the most ready now, but I think the other 2 guys have more upside.

They also had Vic Beasley going half a dozen picks into the 2nd round, so their memory isn't all that. It's entirely possible they forgot the Steelers might want Ray, or Beasley, or Johnson.
