Good thing. Ketchup or not, I didn't want to eat that hat. It took me forever to get that rim right.

With Houston getting the tag, his price just went up too. This virtually guarantees he will wear someone else's jersey next season IMO

Yeah, no doubt. Let's see what Jarvis can do from his old collegiate spot. Moats and Silverback can handle the right.

Yea know, I didn't pay attention to what Woodley did last season, but it was far worse than I even imagined. 3 tackles, 2 assists, zero sacks or anything else. With Al Davis passed, why is that franchise STILL dumber than a bag of hammers? Woodley's career is already over at age 30. If he didn't blow his $ he should be set for life, but with these folk, it's not a given he saved enough $.

I don't see that, I don't think Worilds has the same love for DL as other defensive players do, he's hated how he's been used over the years.

Maybe we even sign a FA that mans the right side, or we draft someone to play there. I wouldn't feel great about those three as our regular starters unless we went OLB in round 1.

id like Jones - Graham with silverback and moats as rotational backups.
Or McPhee/Orakpo - Jones with the aforementioned rotational backups.

I agree. Add a high draft pick to the mix to rotate in and learn, and throw in HoJo as a special teams specialist and 5th OLB.

Yeah, he's near the top of my free agent list. I have no real feel for what kind of payday he will command though. I think he's a better player than Worilds, but he didn't have a good season. I do think that Sheard can work off the right side, which would allow JJ to move to the left.

With the evolution of the game and the rules , I wished we would just go Bigger at that spot. With all the quick drops and quick reads double moves are not going to have the same effect as they used to . Speed moves can be countered by a OC with a drop of brains . Can't beat Power.

I been drawing up a lot of different looks and I like crashing the OLB'S from the outside shoulder . A great way to help set the edge and beat up OT'S this will do a few things . Help stop the Zone Stretch run which kills us . Force the QB to step up into the pocket not allowing him to scramble or get on the edge which also kills us.

Then when it comes to blitzing it seems on paper we have a lot of stunts and loops from the faster LB'S that should create a lot of pressure with less people . Me and another Coach are working on it , it's a twist of the old 4-4 crash defenses from back in the day.

This. Phila wanted him last season. Could be a landing spot. Big year for Jarvis Jones. We talk about the secondary issues but the OLB position is in tatters. Brandon Graham could get a look see from the eagles.

I will bet you that the best FA offer Worilds gets will be something like 4 years for 15M. Or maybe 5 years for 20 mill.
Teams are going to feel like they could draft better than a Worilds.

Is there a chance he tests the market and ends up signing a multi-year deal with the Steelers for less than half of what a tag would have given him?

My buddy is a die hard eagles fan and asked me if he was any good the other day because he said the eagles seem to be dying for him.

Yes, but it would have to be under the condition laid out by guru in the post above yours. If there is no market for him and we can offer the best contract (at half the tag #), then he will re-sign. I feel like this scenario has about a 1% chance of happening tho. With all of the recent cuts in the NFL there is a ton of money to go around, and the top end guys at each position with be paid handsomely (and yes, Worilds is one of the top end FA OLB's). It's a good year to be a UFA.

This may be how you feel about Worilds, but I can almost guarantee that there will be a team (or teams) that think way more highly of Jason than you do. While there is almost certainly an edge rusher (or a few) in this years draft that will end up being better than Worilds, the draft is still not an exact science. Sometimes guys just don't pan out. You at least know what you're getting from Worilds... Around 8 sacks a year if he starts and stays healthy. He could potentially get more in a role where he is strictly a pass rusher on certain passing downs. Some teams will value that more than risking a first round pick on an unproven 20-22 year old kid.

if I had to guess, I'd say Worilds could see a contract that's 4-5 years long that pays in the 30-40 million range. Probably 6.5mil/yr low end, 8.5 mil/yr high end. Anything outside those parameters would shock me.
