Speaking of, what's the deal with Rouge One? Will we get multiple stand-alone stories from the Star Wars universe? I knew nothing about this until just the other day.

    You mean Rogue One? :lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol::lolol:

I wouldn't mind that as a mini series or something. I read those books and I have to say a couple scenes could have been taken right from those books.

That's the one I was talking about with Mads. He's in the Rogue One film and I called it KOTOR after the game instead. But that's the one. One thing I WILL say about George Lucas is that he really didn't go overboard with making tons of films and spinoffs and things like that but now that Disney owns it I expect it will become like Marvel movies and they will just do tons of paint by numbers films that pretty much have no respect for the source material and just are nothing but shameless cash cows. George Lucas just used it as a shameless cash cow for everything other than the movies though. LOL! I mean there is almost literally anything you could ever want with a Star Wars logo on it.

My younger brother sent me a link for an interview with Kathleen Kennedy where they actually pressed her about projects that were in the pipeline before the sale to Disney. Now while Disney controls Lucasfilms and the property they are really hands off besides wanting to give fans more access to this rich universe that they could literally have thousands of stories in. Rogue One is being released in a year which will keep the iron hot. They asked her about Star Wars: Underworld which was a TV series George was developing following gangsters on Courscant and he was rumored to have 100 scripts already finished and ready to shot. They also asked about Star Wars 1313 which was a video game that they showed concept art for at E3 in 2012 I believe and let players explore the lower levels of Courscant. Kennedy said this was all gold and they would be fools not to look at everything George had in the works and see what they can use. I'll be surprised not to see more TV show or stand alone films in GFFA because of all the possibilities.

I saw it opening day, and it still upsets me when I think about it.

Am I the only one that was sorely disappointed with the movie? It was just meh to me. It was really slow, lots of things happened that made little or no sense, and I didn't care for Kylo Ren. Didn't live up to the hype.

Yes. You are the only one. In the galaxy. LOL! What did you think didn't make sense, just out of curiosity. I thought the movie had tons of action in it.

I'm also curious to know what you thought didn't make sense. I loved the movie and thought everything came together very well.

Finally saw it, so my self-imposed exile from this thread is over. :)

A little formulaic and too convenient at times. But overall, probably the best Star Wars since Empire. EASILY blows every single prequel out of the water.

Poe is amazing. Love that guy.

    Rey is great.

Finn is extremely likable and easy to relate to.

    Kylo... I...

    I just...

IDK. I had enough "whiny emo brat" with prequel Anakin. He has potential, but he doesn't, and I doubt ever will, hold Vader's jock. I'm more interested in Snoke frankly. Kylo's most interesting trait is who he is. That's it. I don't think it's the actor. It's how he's written. He has brief moments, but they don't last. Here's hoping this is all intentional as sort of an origin story before the real badass emerges.

I'm going to refrain from speculation for a while. I have a TON of speculation, but even talking about that ventures into spoiler territory for this movie. I'm sure others haven't yet seen it.

Can 2017 hurry up and get here?

I saw it over the weekend and thought it was great! Erased the bad taste I got from the prequels.

I loved all the characters in this except for maybe Kylo Ren. It was hard for me to take him seriously. I just kept thinking that someone needs a time out. He was much better with his Mask on.

Anyone notice that Luke's lightsaber was blue and not green? hmmmmm...... When can we start talking about theories? ;)

Not going to discuss theories yet (although I'm ready to thoroughly debunk the one you're referring to. ;))

Just pointing out that the lightsaber SHOULD have been blue. That lightsaber is the one Luke was given by Obi Wan in Episode 4. The one he lost when Vader cut off his hand. His SECOND lightsaber (that he built himself) was green. :)

Yeah that's true about the Lightsaber. I can't wait to find out why C3-PO's arm is red now. That's a little detail I'm looking forward to learning. I have a lot of theories myself. Maybe we should just start a "theories" thread for all the people that have seen it?

I think I can answer that. Toy sales. That's not a dig, since I'm a huge SW fan, but who wouldn't want a C3-PO action figure with a red arm? I'm sure they'll have a story reason for it at some point, but initially I think it's for the toys.

Yep, I get that, which leads me to my theory.... Discussed in this new thread. http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/t...-major-spoilers-enter-at-your-own-risk.13584/
