    Hello Steeler Nation-

My name is Jeff and I am coming to Pittsburgh in a couple weeks to see my Rams play in one of the toughest places to play in the NFL. My 20 year old son and I are flying in from Indiana to catch the game. We wanted to catch a game in a "true NFL City" this year and we chose Heinz Field.

We come in peace and are looking forward to meeting fellow Football Fans and enjoying the Pittsburgh Game Day experience. Yes, we would take some free tailgate grub if anybody offers! ha

Anybody got any advice or suggestions on some things we should do? Any local flavor places we should go to eat etc etc? We are flying in at Noon on Saturday so have most of the day and night Saturday to hang out, plus Sunday Game day. We fly home Monday morning.

Two of my closest friends back here in Indiana are HUGE Steelers Fans and they say its gonna be a great time and we won't get our asses kicked as visitor fans haha!

    Let the suggestions fly please......

Jeff the Ram Fan from Indiana

Welcome Ramster - there's a "sticky" thread at the top of the Steeler Talk page that will provide you with everything you might want to do while in the Burgh and more. Here's a link......http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/t...n-pittsburgh-while-visiting-for-a-game.18735/

My family moved from Pittsburgh to LA in 1965 and we have 4 generations of proud Steeler fans waving the Terrible Towel every Sunday (or Monday, or Thursday or Saturday) during football season. One of the saddest days in my life was witnessing in person the Rams rookie RB Jerome Bettis running roughshot over the Steelers in Sep 1993 when the Rams creamed the Steelers 27-0 in Anaheim CA. But, one of the happiest days of my life was when the Steelers acquired the Bus 3 years later in a Draft Day trade. The rest, as they say, is history. Enjoy your visit and don't forget your "gutchies" being as it will be mid-November. The Rams have always been my 2nd favorite team ...............and will remain so on Sunday November 10, 2019. :herewego!:

Where are you staying? If near the stadium cool. If not we recommend the clipper. Driving around downtown can be a pain in the ass especially after a game. Also, pretty unique experience coming up on Heinz Field from the water. Also, drops you off right where you need to be Gate A. Up to the right is Bettis Grille 36. Past that Southern Tier(craft beer and better food imo) To the left of Bettis Grille is Stage AE. It's like the official Steelers tailgate. Big space; beer, live music, cornhole and other games, Steelers pope walking around, and fans from both teams for sure. Probably be quite a few Rams fans especially Aaron Donald jerseys.

What to do? The Duquesne Incline is across from the clipper. Ever watch a primetime Pittsburgh event and they usually show it. Get a great view of the city. You like craft beer and unique burgers? Fat Heads. Burgatory is another burger place unique to Pittsburgh and really known for their shakes. They got one in the stadium now too.

You can see the Pens/Blackhawks play Saturday night  Might be a Blackhawks fan and even if you aren't still a good time.

I sat near Browns fans the last game I went to and they were fine. Heinz is a great place to watch a game. Enjoy!

The Cleveland Rams won the NFL title in 1945 and then promptly skipped out of town for LA. That was the only time in NFL history that the champion team played in a new city the next season. It could only happen to Cleveland.

I know LA is a huge city. I was shell shocked when we played the Chargers out there and it was pretty much all Steeler fans in the stadium. I'm guessing it would be a very different story if we played the Rams out there.

I'm being a homer here but I think you'll really like the Point where the three rivers converge. Nice area and as you are walking over the bridge you'll notice a awesome baseball park called PNC. We have a single A team that plays there.

They'll find out when they trot out 2 NFL teams next year in their new Billion Dollar Star Wars Stadium built in the middle of nowhere. Traffic in and out of that area (South Bay/Carson) is already an absolute nightmare pretty much 24/7 - the limo delivery market should explode on game days. You could probably fly to and from London in the time it will take to navigate in that area of LA on Sundays. Other than the sucky location reality, the fantasy aspect of the new venue should be lots of fun. A beer and dog will probably require a 2nd mortgage.

I like going to the Strip District in the early afternoon if it is nice out ... mostly for Steeler Fans, but there are neat stores and food places round as well.

Primanti Brothers or Peppi's for a Sandwich.

Church Brew Works on a Saturday night is neat.

Taking the Duquesne incline up the hill to the Top of Mt. Washingotn to look over the whole city

    Fiore's Pizza

Stage AE, next to the stadium and tailgating, has music and drink before the game.

Welcome Jeff to Pittsburgh! Don’t forget to bring sweaters and warm coats. Evenings in Pittsburgh can get quite cold this time of year.
    I agree with Primanti’s.
One thing not to be missed is to go across to the South Side and take the incline up to Mt. Washington at night. You will see how beautiful the city can be.
Between Heinz Field and PNC Park, you can see the Shrine of the Immaculate Reception. Leave a votive candle if you are so inclined.
    Enjoy your visit to Pittsburgh!

If it's nice weather make your way to the strip district. The original Primanti Brothers is there. It's the only one you should go to. I've had it at the stadium and was really disappointed. Ride the incline. Take the Clipper fleet over to the game. If you get a chance steal Mike Tomlin's Red Challenge flag as a favor for us Steelers fans. Enjoy the game.

Weather forecast this weekend is highs in the 30's and lows near 20. 40% chance of snow showers during the game. California boy Goff might shiver a few picks to the Steelers on Sunday.

It was almost the same when the Chargers were here! Very little loyalty with that franchise, fans or ownership! Besides, their "stadium" is only slightly larger than an average high school field
