I’m also thinking Mommy and Daddy never took him to the Circus when he was a kid.

Oh but they did! And it didn't take me too long to understand that the magic of the three ring circus was that there were always multiple things going on. People of limited intelligence may choose to believe that the act in one particular ring was all that mattered, and like yourself, become fascinated by that one act. But believe me, the ring-master is the person in charge of "all" the acts, good and bad. If the bad acts continue to overshadow the good acts, it isn't really the fault of that act, it's the ring-masters fault. This year we will find out of the ring-master has learned from his follies.

I'm sure that was all wasted on you but it's fun to play with mental midgets sometimes;)

Considering the majority of his posts reference the circus , then clown may be the perfect word to describe him?

Oh?! Are we playing the "Hall of Fame QB = Sustained Success" game?! Sweet!! Let me show you our other coaching contests! These current and former coaches have also worked with Hall of Fame QBs too!! Let us see how they stack up to Mike Tomlin!! :herewego:

    1.) Sean Payton (2006-Present):

Four losing seasons. Three consecutive losing seasons (2014-2016)

    2.) Mike McCarthy (2006-2018):

***Accounting for 2008 to 2018 as 2008 marked the first year Aaron Rodgers started all 16 games***:

    Two Losing Seasons

    3.) Tom Coughlin (2004-2015):

Four losing seasons. Three consecutive losing seasons (2012-2015).

    Meanwhile....!!!

    Mike Tomlin (2007-Present):

    Zero losing seasons.

    ....

    ........

Yeah, this is all fine and good. I'm impressed you took so much time and effort in posting this. But, you've left out one very important issue.

Tom Coughlin had Eli, Sean Payton has Brees, Mike McCarthy had Rodgers.... but they didn't have 2 ALL PROS and potential HOFers at RB and WR for 4 freakin' seasons. In other words, these coaches didn't have the luxury of LE'VEON BELL and ANTONIO BROWN to go along with their franchise QB.

Tomlin squandered at least 3 of those seasons with Ben, Bell and Brown. 2015... I give him a pass with injuries.

Tomlin has done less with more than any coach in recent history.

And regarding those 8-8 seasons of '12 and '13... Roethlisberger was the constant. Yes, Brown made some spectacular plays during those two years, but I don't remember Bell playing much his rookie year in 2013. Ben pretty much saved Tomlin from a 7-9 or worse record in those down years. Cowher didn't have the luxury of a franchise-caliber QB in '98, '99 and '03.

Charlie Batch also bailed Tomlin out in 2012 vs Ravens @ Baltimore.

This is true and the AB and LB theatrics didn't just happen in a vacuum, there are organizational reasons why these and other cluster-fuks grew to the point they did. They were a product of their environment.

How many losing seasons though?! For that matter, how good is Tomlin's winning percentage?! Most importnatly, who is second to Bill Belichick again?!

Still awaiting that answer by the way.

    :icon mrgreen:

As far as I'm concerned.... Ben Roethlisberger is second to Bill Belichick in winning percentage.

    All valid!

Tomlin will never beat Belichick because one always has his team ready to play and one doesn't.

As far as Tomlin being second in winning percentage, to me, it's perception. For example, if someone handed you $10,000,000 and 2 years from now all you have to show for it is a $1,000,000 home and a $50,000 car both paid for, many would think you are doing well for yourself; those who know the facts would know you are an imbecile!

But all I hear now is how much Bell and AB hurt this team and how they won't be missed. So if that true is Tomlin now going to start doing more with less ?

Tomlin is going to surprise alot of you I believe. If the players buy into him, I think he will have one of his better years coaching. Last season hurts more to him than us armchair critics.

The whole NFL has become a 3 ring circus. You’re just seeing our problems through black & gold colored glasses and missing the reality that all teams are facing circus-like drama on a regular basis. Sign of the times.

    Sign of the times?....yes.

    All teams?....not even close!

When the Steelers lead the stupidity parade for a few years in a row, it's you who is seeing things through black and gold glasses when trying to excuse it by saying it a sign of the times and everyone is doing it.
