Did anyone see where he supposedly admitted to lying to the media when they initially asked him about this? It was when he was talking about how people just say crap about him on the internet and how it was "beyond his control" when people say that stuff. I wish a father figure would get in this guy's life and tell him that it is NOT beyond his control. It's really easy to keep people from getting mad at you for doing stupid crap. You just stop doing stupid crap. The fans have every right to be livid at this moron. The more he opens his mouth the less I like him. I don't understand why him and Martavis can't just quit smoking it. I mean it's not addictive, right? DeCastro is pretty ticked about it too. I saw where he commented on it and he's pretty ill at these idiots that keep creating distractions and hurting the team. It's about time somebody on this team steps up publicly and puts these numbskulls in their places. I can totally understand why Ben called out Martavis last year. I just wish this team had an absolute enforcer that would knock some noggins when dudes don't walk the line. Most NFL teams in general are missing that though these days.

In related news supposedly Ben is mad as hell at Bryant for lying to his face and that he needs grow up, be a man and reach out to his teammates for help.

There has to be more to this story. Either Bell is telling the truth or he's lying and hoping to win his appeal and all will be forgotten.
I personally think he believes that he did nothing wrong and that's why he keeps posting this stuff on social media. Problem is it looks like he and the NFL have a different view on the matter and the NFL is always going to win.

One thing I've been curious about is has he actually DENIED smoking pot again or is he just trying to obfuscate and say that he got a new phone? It's sorta what politicians do when they get asked a question they then answer that question with a question and answer the question they ask instead of the question they were asked. Has anyone even bothered to simply ask Bell straight up if he has been smoking again?

Fiddle sticks. When did Steelers start being afraid to play tough guys? We're supposed to be the tough guys on the block.

My kids have been watching it non-stop and your response is basically the way Nick Wild tells Officer Judy Hops to handle a press conference answere their question with your own question and then answer that.

Exactly like that. LOL! Or when Comey was asked a few weeks ago in the FBI hearings, after saying that Hillary was "extremely careless" with classified info, and Jason Chaffetz said "did Hillary do anything wrong?" and he said "What do you mean by wrong?" Lawyer speak. Sigh.........

Who cares about politics, Tomlin held a fundraiser at his home last month for Hillary, who cares, all I care about is putting a team on the field this year, with, or without Bell, that will steam roll it's way to another super bowl...

we still have 2 stud RB's for the first 4 games. not worried a bit. make bell 3rd string when he comes back for a few more weeks to get the message. we still have firepower without him and bryant in the lineup. step up next guy. :smiley1::cool:

I actually really like the idea of benching him. Or taking him out around the goal line if D Will can get it done.

Didn't Tomlin punish him two years ago right before his suspension by playing him in the last preseason game for it's entirety and just constantly feeding him the ball with barely a breather?

Yeah that was the theory anyway. I hope this year he makes him play every snap.

Like even if he's suspended, he has to act out the play at home while the game is on.

Like Leroy once did in an episode of the TVs series of Fame.

Wow, can't believe the stuff I am reading here. If he is suspended 4 games that is punishment enough, I don't care where the punishment comes from, its punishment.

He's the best RB we have by far. I want the guy on the filed that gives us the best chance of winning. Every game is far too important to risk losing.

You'd think he's Greg Hardy, wow.

    I agree.

I also think that some of the tricks we used last season which covered Bell's absence - like when we went 80 odd percent passing in a game - will be harder to do this time around.

    We need all weapons firing.

Yup.They run a completely different offense when he plays.

Plus, Ben is safer with Bell on the field.

The Terrible Podcast guys repeated the change in phone number rumor today and sounded like they believed that to be the case.

Not definitive, but seemed to be leaning that direction

    So... in short.. Bell will more than likely lose his suspension... which really did not alter the biggest issue anyway. Even if Bell were at the start of the season, the Senquez Golson injury further amplifies the biggest concern as stated in my previous thread;

    http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/t...ll-is-the-least-of-pittsburghs-worries.14723/

Artie Burns and Sean Davis are now forced to see game time come September. Those rookie growing pains are really going to be kicked up a notch now. Furthermore, outside of those two, there really is not too many other options Pittsburgh has at cornerback; doubly so since nothing has been even mentioned of Doran Grant's progress since the start. While that front seven is set.., that secondary is going to take some MASSIVE lumps.

Pittsburgh may very well have to score 30 or more again in order to win the North; hence why the development of Sammie Coates and Jesse James are so vital for doing so.

I'm think because of his recently repaired parts, this may not be a good option now.
