Okay so me and a buddy are in early stages of planning a trip to the Jets game (Oct. 2nd) and most likely gonna come up and stay Saturday and Sunday Night. Haven't decided whether to get a Hotel or AirBnb,

My question is this, What areas should we avoid staying in?

He has never been to a game, let alone to Pittsburgh, I haven't been to a game since 2017

Avoid: Bethel Park, Highland Park, Squirrel Hill, East Liberty, Bloomfield (those lumberjack liberals with funky beards will chop-you-up or just ask what your pronoun is)

Safest: McKeesport, Wilkinsburg, Homewood, McKees Rocks (amazing strip clubs), Brighton Heights

Are you trying to get the poor guy killed? I was head basketball coach for a school in Butler and we had a game in Wilkinsburg. I was waiting on a red light when a gang on one side of the street started exchanging gunfire with a gang on the other side. The car in front of me was hit so I told my daughter to lay on the floor and I hit the gas and ran the red light and kept going. You'll never catch me anywhere near Wilkinsburg again.

Nor Mkeesport,Homewood, Mckees Rock, Homewood, East Liberty, Penn Hills. Desperate people do desperate things. Please don't go to these places. They are not safe for normal citizens

First the places you shouldn’t go don’t have hotels

It will be hard to get a hotel downtown north side or south side because they book up as soon as the schedule comes out but give it a try

Cranberry Township is a little ways away but if you have a car it’s a 15 minute drive in

I believe some people try to stay in Greentree for easy access

The Sheraton Station Square is great access by boat game day but expensive

I check hotels.com near Heinz Field and rooms are available but pricey

Parking is a challenge so take a Gateway Clipper Boat the T (or subway) or park downtown early

Man I miss living up there. I was just telling my wife the other day about going out in the boat.

be a man and quit asking for directions, I’m simply asking because for safety reasons, I will have a 4 year old with me D**khead

I found a pretty good place through Airbnb in the Mount Washington area though, nothing but good reviews

Awesome, Glad you found a place. Hope you have great time.
I also hope you don't use that language in front of your kid. LOL. Hard not to while watching the Steelers sometimes.

Anytime in Pittsburgh is a great time, I've been there 4 times, but my buddy has never been there and I'm kinda excited for him, just to be able to come out of the tunnel and see the breathtaking view. and to experience the game, last one I went to was the Dec 10th 2017 39-38 win over the Raven to clinch the Division.

And the little one is usually in a whole different room when Daddy watches the games, My 3 adult sons are huge Steelers fans (my 25 year old was at Ben's last game in Heinz Stadium) But I cannot get my little one to have any interest...But he will one day....lol

You saw a great Steeler comeback in that game. I think we were down 17 points in the 4th quarter when Ben caught fire and threw 3 TD passes in the 4th to pull out the victory. I think he threw for over 500 yards in that game.
