For me,the 2 biggest importants thing will be that Kenny become a above average QB and who can step up in big moment(he did it a few times last year but he need to continue) and Matt Canada need to be much better especially for the passing game....he needs to give some easy play to this offense at times and he also needs to give at Kenny more freedom to change plays if it's obvious before the play that the play will not work

Afterwards, the defense needs to be elite...Last year, the Steelers were first in interception with 20 but last in fumble recover with only 3! If Watt is healthy and he is a monster again, it will help a lot.

do you really think Canada will change his playbook for the better? Which coordinator has done that or gotten better in the past?

Many. Some of the best OCs, and DCs were not great at the beginning. Don't believe Me go look. I'm not saying He will,, and If You've been on here long enough....You know I hated the freak hiring of Him, but just saying He can't, and won't get better is a false accusation that nobody knows forsure.

The 49ers do have the best overall roster in the NFL.... minus QB.. where Kyle Shanahan has had the absolute worst luck of any successful Head Coach I have ever seen when it comes to the position. As you said, even with a rock solid QB in Brock Purdy, San Fran went to the NFC Championship Game with him. Sadly, Purdy got hurt badly and... the rest of that game was... lackluster.. to say the least.

I do agree that opening day is going to be a major test for not just Kenny Pickett and Canada but the entire Offense as a whole. There are a lot of moving parts overall on that side of the ball (for better overall) and that is going to create its own set of problems. Not just the Offense but the Defense and Special Teams as well. For example, who the hell is the Slot CB?! No seriously... counting on Patrick Peterson to be that for the whole season is quite counter productive; Joey Porter Jr taking those needed next steps being irrelevant. Another isn't just the Slot CB but the new faces within that secondary as well; miscommunication woes await early no less. Cris Boswell should be back but is he?! Having leg injuries for a position that is predominately dependent on the leg is one thing. Having hip injuries is another. Having both?! Ouch! Christian Kuntz is not safe either as the team has brought in multiple Long Snappers to compete with him for he was just as inconsistent as Boswell was a year ago.

Lance's problems aren't all bad luck. Spending so much draft capital to get him was a bad decision.

They also got lucky finding Purdy in the first place. Even the 49ers have admitted they had no idea what they drafted in Purdy until they got him in camp.

I'll take your word for it. But Canada is 51. He's been doing this a while. I don't think he changes his style after all this time. My only hope is that the QB coach and KP sit down with him and they make some positive tweaks and adjustments - at Tomlin's bidding.
