If we all put our oars in the ointment, we can put the icing on the cake while the iron is still hot.

NFL Officiating has been suspect for years now. The biggest issue though is the continual inclusion of rules and how many the Refs are supposed to remember. Bad enough that there are so many judgement calls to begin with.

Adding more is ridiculous. That all said, 2021 is by far a season in which NFL Officicating has been at its worst since 2017.

And yet the owners think Roger Goodell is doing a fantastic job as commissioner.

Translation we're making so much damn money who cares if officiating is flawed.

If was either Bill Cowher or Hines Ward who said you gotta take your hat off and give it to him.

    Bingo.

Goodell is a Sports Commissioner in name only. The NFL Owners are the real Commisioners here. The "NFL Competition Commitee" is really nothing more than a glorified method to obtain more money by making the game "fun" and "enjoyable"......

..... whereas for people like me it has made the game the equivalent of an F1 Race.

I always thought that having a Referee up in the booth that could call to the field Refs could be misused.

    It could also be good.

Same with the concussion Dr pulling a player out.

Now that that boiling teapot has sat overnight, I wonder how Tomlin feels about it today.

To make a long story even longer, it may be a blessing in the last straw because time flies when your getting bent out of shape. Like the saying goes, no pain no grain.

One of the guys on tv explained it. If there hadn't been the stoppage, Seattle had seconds to run their kicking team out there, set up, and wait for the referees whistle, at which point they had one second to snap the ball. The Steelers didn't have to wait for the ball to move, all they had to do was wait for whistle.

A block FG attempt would have been from a stopped game clock, with or without the review. The only clock the FG team would have been racing is the 25Sec play clock. The race against the play clock would have been no different than a field goal that is set up in the middle of the game with a running clock.

Because the ball was spiked with 1 second, the game clock would not have restarted until the snap of the ball. The referee's whistle would have just started the play clock.

You say the Steelers are mediocre, but you expect them to blow out the Seahawks .
