Told my son last night that I’ve been watching this team for over 50 years and ain’t never seen anything like this. Not just the Steelers either. FA is a free for all.

 

You're damn right I did. Bravo Steelers. Its been a great offseason so far. We need a few extra FA's and then on to the draft.

This feels like a culture change in Pittsburgh. Out with the mental midgets (DJ and Kenny) and in with some guys that WANT to be here and WANT to win. DJ is a very good player, but has a loser's mentality. Pickett sucks, and has a loser's mentality.... Maybe some of this is what Najee was referencing after the Bills game. You need to be BUILT like a winner to win, not just play the best. I am beyond optimistic for 2024.

 

He's taking a 10 win team.......improving it.........and expecting less wins...........hmmmmmm

I like that we are more active in free agency this off-season. It’s not something that needs to be an every year thing in my opinion, but the roster needed a shake up.

 

This is what happens when a team is in dire need of a culture change, lacks leadership, and hasn't won a playoff game in 7 years. It's an unprecedented off-season because the Steelers are in an unprecedented stage of mediocrity and unrulyness. So yes, time for some big changes.. the old way wasn't working anymore, especially without a franchise QB in his prime.

 

That will only leave about 3 of us here on the TSF MB.

 

i believe our starting QB is an overrated, over the hill retread. i'll eat crow if wrong.

 

You're entitled to your opinion such as we all are but I think you're wrong. If Wilson does not work out which I think he will be fine for a year you have JF as a backup and before anyone says he is not a good QB he has the same stats as another well-known AFC North QB with the initials LJ .. Their stats are very closely related and he has more rushing TDS then LJ. I think we're good.

 

Or maybe and I’m going way out on a limb here perhaps it has something to do with not paying a franchise quarterback

On top of having one of the best edge rushers in the league, as well as a top-line safety, both in their second contracts. And a franchise DT likely in the final year of his career with a contract weighed down by previous restructure.

These type of swings can happen, especially when you have a club coming off of a franchise QB with a supporting cast. Once the QB's salary drops off, the books will lean toward the defense if the team has star power in the higher-dollar positions there.

 

Agreed. Everything has just felt so stale the couple years. And yet we still have soooo many heart attack games.

I’d like some dominantly boring if that could ever be a real phrase. Meaning so good that the win was inevitable.
