During the darkest of dark Steeler days pre 70's dynasty there was very little to cheer about for Steeler fans until an amazing effort in a late season 1962 game against the dominant Giants, a short lived Steeler giant, 6' 9" Big Daddy Lipscomb, single-handedly contributed to one of the most iconic beat-down photos of that era when he clobbered the Giant's HOF QB, YA Tittle which forced an interception and upset Steeler victory (from fuzzy memory). YA suffered a broken collarbone and concussion on the play.

Edit: Well so much for fuzzy memories - I had always remembered this occurring in late 1962 and perpetrated by Steeler behemoth Big Daddy Lipscomb - alas I was wrong on both counts - it happened in September 1964 and was done by Steeler John Baker, a year after Big Daddy sadly succumbed to an overdose of heroin. I did have it right that the Steeler's won and that it was indeed an upset as YA had taken the Giants to the Championship game the previous 3 years.
