So, I think we all can agree that Worilds seems to play better on Woodley's side. If/when the team lets Harrison walk, do they try to shift Woodley to the right to see how he would do there? I know Robinson is on the depth chart behind Harrison on the right, but it seems like this would be the best way to get both guys playing. Thoughts?

It's possible, I'm not so sure if there isn't a stud OLB that you don't take him early on in the draft.

I don't see Woodley being moved. Woodley holds the edge on running plays really well and Worlids does not. When healthy Woodley is good at what he does.

I feel you need more of a speed guy on the right side...Maybe Worlids is that guy... Maybe he isn't, but I can't make a conclusion on that until I see Worlids play a full season at Harrison's spot.

I agree you never know what the draft will bring us. I think Saftey or ILB would be the early choice though.

question is, how do we pay him to sit out and not troy? why would we dump harrisons salary and not his. harrison at least plays. everyone thinks JH will be cut loose, why not woodley instead, get JH healthy and play worilds in woodleys spot? woodleys been out alot of games going back to last year. is he as good without JH. is worilds closing that gap? big decisions to make. i'm sure this won't be the last debate on here about it.

Harrison is way too up there in age... yeah Harrison plays well right now, but at his age his play could tank at any moment and very quickly.

At least Woodley's injury is just a hammy and not a knee or a disc problem in your back.

I think Woodley is not coming into camp in shape. I'm not sure what he does in the offseason, but it seems like he isn't working on his conditioning.

It is interesting to me...if you look back to camp what was the talk. Carter and Worlids were what? Carter=Worilds

Well, Carter better raise his game because right now he is behind IMO. I like Worilds and think he will be more Haggans than Harrison, but we need that physical replacement for James.

harrison didn't play until a few years ago. he stays in shape. the back is better, it's the knee that needs fixed. harrison is by far the more complete LB.

yes woodleys is just a hammy and harrison keeps playing. worilds and woodley are the same type of LB, though worilds is doing some things better as of this year. woodley better pick up his game and get on the field if you ask me.

think back to another LB that was setting the world on fire only to start getting hurt and finally cut loose. he never got back to form again. he was a one year wonder for us. anyone????

i am very worried we will cut the wrong LB to save money next year. age or not. like i said, this will be debated again before next year, i'm pretty sure.

Kinda my reaction too. Woodley and his hamstring is a issue. Worilds improved play is a blessing. James H. heath issues combined with his age is also an issue but in reality James is more durable and key to this defense and woodley is easier to replace. Woodley is also our future defense stable at OLB so we need all three.

worilds is making plays from that spot. plays woodley hasen't been making much of the time. not just sacks. even downfield. he's making a strong argument for that spot. we are talking a big money difference. the one common thread between the two is having JH on the other side. i don't know? i'm really up in the air on this one. woodley would bring alot in a trade, i keep thinking. he needs to play though.

worilds is making a case for himself, true, but we can't trade woodley. He's just too good of an OLBer when healthy. If we do trade him that will leave us short handed an very vulnerable if a injury happens at that position/s ( OLB). Injurys are a part of the game and high quality capable back-ups are the difference in winning and losing.

You are correct in your accessment of James importance in the dynamics of the front seven. It could be put into question whether Worilds struggle on the opposite side is his fault or a lack of James opposite him.

Let me tell you where Woodley is right now. He has so much talent that he just used to show up get into shape in camp and play like lights out. Well, guess what buddy, you aren't 19 any more. You just can't do that. Buckle down, work hard in the offseason to lose a little gut and weight. Put on some muscle and bring it. You're 28. You can't get by on talent alone any more.

Does anyone else find it weird that these guys weigh about 3 pounds different based on ESPN.com, yet Worilds doesn't look out of shape and Woodley does?

I'm hoping for a Corner. I still just don't have the feeling that the guys we have are truly premiere players. If we have a shot at a good shutdown corner I am gonna be SCREAMING for us to take him. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to have a stud linebacker too. I'm just saying the top of my list is still reserved for the best corner we can get.

I am thinking the Steelers are getting tired of Woodley's inability
to stay on the field. I hope they shop him in the off season for draft picks.
Yes sort of like are 1 year wonder that went to KC and fell flat on his face.
When your position coach calls you out, you bettter believe some one upstairs
    is WATCHING.

Mac, they said they would get back to me and something about holding my breath? Blount I'm in your corner on getting a, uh, corner. It is always nice to grab a stud LB but LBs seem to do well on our team anyhow. Corners are another story!

LOL, was it something about checking the temperature in h-ll?:lolol:

i don't know about a corner. we seem pretty set if these guys keep it up. vandyke was a nice pickup for us. victorian also didn't look bad in preseason, so there is alot to build with.

LB is a pretty deep position in this draft. there are some good ones still far down the list. i still think safety is a need.
