Like Geico peeps say.. "everyone knows that" all the more reason to say riddance. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been plagued way too long with the thorns in the flesh..it's time to get it right move towards another championship!

most of it is work habits. his coach and teammates have tried to steer him towards better conditioning and frankly he just hasn't followed a top notch regiment to be paid as a top notch player.

people talk about ike taylor and his drops and such, but the guy works his tail off to stay on the field for his team, his employer and himself, feeling he owes that to them and it has shown in his career. some guys work hard to add to their God given talents. they want to succeed and get better at what they do. they want to get to and stay at the top of their game.

Woodley doesn't and never has struck me as such. the rooneys have to ask themselves, am I getting the right return on my investment? there are a lot of guys that can rush the passer and Woodley just isn't special at doing it any more than anyone else frankly, but being paid as such. it hurts the team as a whole.

I know that everyone knows that. My post was in reference to someone saying that he has a yellow streak.

He's going to train with the guitarist from Styx? Guess Woodley wants to learn how to play renegade on guitar

That's fine, but the OP was calling him a thief, yellow and said he has no heart. IMO that's not right.

I don't think Woodley is "bad", but he was clearly a product of how great Harrison was. Woodley is a worthy starter in the NFL, but he isn't worth his current cap number.

If the Steelers have or can find another OLB that is as great as Harrison was, then Woodley (if healthy) would see his production go up. But Woodley isn't the superstar himself, which is unfortunate.

Please. Woodley lost his desire when he got paid. Got weighty, lazy, then the injury's. I hope the Steelers can sign Worlids and let the Marshmallow go. So Ike talked him into it? Ike might be outside looking in as well. He is done.

I agree it's not Woodley's fault the Rooney empire filled his pockets full of roses and became handicapped with physical and mental issues. It's called self denial telling the world what they want to hear when he's not capable of delivering. Come on Glenn your from Missouri seeing is believing correct? Seriously he's only buying time for extended stay though he will never make an impact for Pittsburgh as a linebacker. Time to move on but doubtful, the Rooney's are like my sister with cats..once attached their's no letting go even if it's a poor business decision.

I was agreeing with your statement ... "Woodley can't stay healthy" as to being yellow i knew he wasn't oriental.

Keep him, cut him, whatever! My issue is the OP calling him Yellow and a thief.

personally I think he stays one more year. then gets cut loose. much more cap friendly. we are in desperate need of some backups at that position for sure.

That's been my hunch for a while, too. The chances of cutting him this year are next to nil IMO.

I just hope he can return to form, then all the cap talk with him will quiet down a bit.

After reading the Pittsburgh newspaper one of the writer's said they will try to sign Worilds before free agency and cut Woodley after June 1. If Worilds leaves then they need to keep Woodley.

No. I view them as separate conversations as odd as that may sound. From a management standpoint, cutting Woodley this year isn't a very sensible thing to do, and very hard to do considering the cap hit that needs to be covered.

My answer about Worilds isn't going to be sexy. If they want to keep him...they will. By that I mean, unless there is some ridiculous offer to match, then they can make it work if they truly want to.

Agree with the red part, but find the blue part pretty unlikely. They are very much going to want to get a deal worked out before March 11th. You want to get him signed to a deal before his leverage goes up, which it likely will when he hits the open market.

it will be considerably less of a hit if he's cut june 1 next year. colon will also be off the dead money list. I don't think there is any question we cut carter for money this year (and lack of performance) and draft one at some point in the draft. worilds re-signing is about 50-50 I think. like TTF said, if they want to they will. if we do, the draft pick will be mid to later, I'd expect.

It's tough to project Worilids' value based on last year's free agency. There were some strange results. Look at Cliff Avril. The guy was a 26 year old proven pass rusher who forces fumbles, and he only got a 2 year, $15 mil deal from Seattle. Worilds played well this season, but he is entering free agency as much less of a proven commodity (and only 1 year younger) than Avril did last year.
