Because players are just cogs in the machine, use them then lose them. I hate long term contracts.

All valid points but the last part is particularly true. Players want to play for Tomlin. You want players who want to play for you. A few knuckleheads around here try to twist that around to fit their agenda.

it shows if you build a team that looks like it could be going somewhere and more players will want to be part of that. this ream looks to be in pretty good shape right now. the draft picks should just add to it. young hungry additions. guy's that had been a little snubbed where they were. all this adds to a team vibe here. i like where they are at this point.

You wrote that it was Rooney. Now you think it might have been Colbert, or maybe another high-ranking Steeler? Who would that be?

Just admit you thought it happened and didn't and we can move on. Thanks.

i thought this was a done seal. this is concerning. i thought the defensive backfield was in pretty good shape except for a strong safety. even then with killebrew signed and stiner still here we could be in good shape. this isn't good. i'm pretty sure we draft one but... that's not always a good thing either.

His deal was supposedly the same as Levi Wallace's. Did someone take just those financials and extrapolate that hey must be for Witherspoon?

Either this was a case of lazy reporting, or Witherspoon is having second thoughts about his deal. Either way, not good.

I think we should blame Disco Schefter @Disco1981@Disco1981 for the misinformation. From now on we will refer to him as Disco Rappaport.

Just a thought, but to sign a contract, you have to be where the contract is

Maybe he lives somewhere that took a while to get to Pittsburgh

    Maybe he was on vacation

I have a suspicion this is why Brady unretired. He was sitting on a beach in Cancun, nanny has the kids, photographer's assistant is spritzing water between his wife's breasts and someone walks up to him and says "Excuse me Mr. Bundchen there is a call for your wife at the front desk." Then boom he says enough of that I need to get back on the field

Not really necessary to be there. I’ve negotiated billions of dollars worth of contracts that were executed with scanned PDFs of signature pages. My guess is his agent may have been quietly working to find a better deal, and couldn’t.
