Have a feeling it's either going to be sometime in this game or the game after. Don't have a good feeling about this game coming up. Hope I'm wrong.

Well if he's just the emergency 3rd string Qb like he's been in the last 2 games ....You won't see Him 1st.
That's why I said . We will know more when He's moved to 2nd string,,but because of the injury he's been 3rd.

All I'm saying is be careful what some of you wish for with Wilson. First, I don't know how they bench a guy who has done everything they've asked of him to this point. If he sh!ts the bed against the Chargers and Wilson is healthy(even 80%), I imagine they'll make the change.
I just can't stress enough how worried I am that at this point with the pass protection being what it is, Wilson will be a sitting duck back there. Certainly don't mind being proven wrong if he's successful.

Fields has been playing well. Wilson's not healthy enough apparently.(It takes 2 legs to throw well or run) The Steelers have been winning.

Just an observation. Some of you should maybe learn to enjoy the good times. It is not guaranteed the Steelers will always have winning seasons, or good drafts, or any of what we have enjoyed as fans over the last 30 years. Look at what Lions fans have endured. The Browns fans had their team move away and win 2SBs for another city. Of course you want to win SuperBowls, I just wish you guys could enjoy the journey and see a work in progress for what it is, instead of nitpicking at each little thing and finding hypotheticals to worry about.

I honestly think Wilson was the plan. Fields was going to learn behind Russ. That plan got changed because of the calf issue. No way Russ can scramble away from the pass rush right now. The OL is not giving enough time for an injured Russ either. Right now, Justin Fields is the best we have for what we need. And he's been doing well.

That won’t win you any playoff games. Tomlin needs to get off the Schneid.

    Agreed.

One could argue that while we’ve won 2 with Fields, they were more “not losing”, at least on the offensive side.

Fields is new to this offense. The OC is new to the team. The OLine is still pretty much a work in progress. The Steelers are 2-0 with these new very important pieces. There are still 15 more regular season games to go. Maybe this offense will take off but 2 games is not enough to know how they will be performing come playoff time, should they make it.

As long as Wilson is dealing with the nagging injury, he should sit. There is a good chance he could aggravate it again if he tries to play through it. Also, he's a sitting duck back there if he's not healthy. We saw what that can look like Week 1 with Cousins, who is still being cautious with his injured foot.

We would be better off in the long run with both things happening. Fields panning out and the 4th

Yes he will start just about when Fields will settle in and have a solid command of the offense with the whole team backing him up.

As many have said, they'll not rush Russell Wilson in.
Once he participates 100% in practice, they'll see if he's game ready and a better suited to start based on his 100% participation.
Maybe it takes another week to get him ready.
No doubt we're going to see him.

This. Hell apparently Russell is still injured enough that He is not even the backup....Hes the 3rd string emergency Qb. Yet for some reason someone disagreed with that. LoL

If they keep winning and Fields keeps being a good game manager (move the rock, burn the clock) and does not turn the ball over much, Wilson holds a clipboard and Fields holds the starting job.

I do want to see Russell play in an actual game environment and given a shot, what scares me however is the sacks and lack of mobility and check down passes and lack of arm strength. If Fields can limit turnovers and progress, I believe Fields is the better short term and long term option for the organization. What I really want to see is what happens when Fields faces adversity how does he react and bounce back, how does he play afterwards?

If the offense keeps scoring under 20 points a game YES.

We had a soft opening to the season facing non-playoff teams; but down the stretch 20 points a game will not be enough.

I don’t really get people saying that they would like to see Russell Wilson “just to see what he could do”. I’ve heard this several times now and it doesn’t make sense to me when they have Fields out there managing the game well enough to keep the sticks moving and chewing up the clock with ball control. I’d rather see what Fields can do more by opening up the playbook and cleaning up the back breaking penalties.

Of course there are ways around that. Many people worried about Mason playing last year because of His limitations at mobility compared to the other Qbs.....yet our line looked better while He was playing. I'm not saying Russell will, or won't, but running is not the only way You can deliver the ball before being sacked.

Fields' turnover issues will show up at some point and I doubt he will make it through the season healthy, so Wilson will get a chance at some point. Unfortunately, I don't expect him to be particularly good either. No reason to rush to Wilson though so long as Fields is playing decently or better and we are winning.
