I'm thinking now, would they even get a faithful witness or witnesses from inside the NFL as the cover up grew and without sound documentation. I too heard the Ravens had knowledge..the stink continues to thicken. Tickled me yesterday how Godell kept circling the wagon in ref. to the resignation Q . He had one theme "we need to get this right and he needs to do better" :bscow:. Hell Blast, these owners will never consider a release unless something in this investigation surfaces they just can't turn their heads on. Unbelievable amount of dollars shifting back in forth within this group.

So Bill Simmons - on his personal Podcast - called out Goodell. Called him a <bleep> liar and a joke. Called for his removal from his position...

So ESPN suspends Bil for 3 weeks.

Guess who's not watching ESPN for the next 3 weeks (or more)?

I still don't think he's losing his job over this no matter what (but I'm praying)
I don't believe he ever saw the tape - although I am certain he had the opportunity
what gets forgotten in all this is that the original 2 game suspension is the first domestic violence case with a suspension of more than 1 game since at least the season before he took over (very sad but true)
he probably thought he was being tough on Ray Rice

hopefully what happens is that he is completely removed from player discipline
a new commissioner might mean the league making new equipment technologies a part of the player safety equation
instead of just fining players for making hits they can't avoid, especially the ones on smaller players who are ducking into them, and pretending they are solving the problem

Don't kno whre to post this so im posting here,......... Why hasnt the Nfl anounced the the verdict on RR/ Goodell yet . I kno they had the hearings last week/ or week b4 last. they said we should be hearing something verry soon, and yet still nothing? With the NFL screwing up the Peterson case. Do u think it is afraid to announce the results of there findings because of the backlash that they will recieve??

How did the NFL screw up the AP case? He's suspended for an entire season for something that many (most??) people in that part of the US think is perfectly acceptable.

He was asked to attend a meeting, and refused. The meeting was not mandatory for him to attend, so when he did not show. THE NFL GOODELL. decided to go ahead and handdwn punishment . more or less saying that he didnt like that AP spanked his child..... and what AP did was NOT CHILD ABUSE... He might have spanked the boy a lil to hrd but thats it!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

I get it. So basically you think what AP did was okay. That's your opinion I guess, but I disagree with beating a child so bad that it causes injuries. AP wasn't suspended due to not going to the meeting, he was suspended for beating his children, the same reason he was criminally charged

Well, Peterson didn't spank the 4 year old boy, he switched him. If I did that, I would have immediately been behind bars and would be drinking prison hooch as we speak.

Anyway, as far as the outcomes being announced goes, I imagine they'll want to be as thorough as possible- ie.- take as long as possible. I think PR 101 teaches that the odds are on your side when you can take attention away from the negative while waiting for public outrage to die down.

There is an issue which Bigbunch hits on that is spot on, and that's Goodell's absolute power, or the public appearance of it. The NFLPA's lawyers are going to come hard for both Ray Rice and Peterson because of this. It wasn't long ago that Goodell was saying he wanted to appear to be less of the disciplinary authority, and yet here we are.

It's sad that part of society still believes beating a child is the correct way to get him to do what you want

It was flat out child abuse. Even in a state that allows corporal punishment, the courts ruled it was child abuse. If you send your kid to the hospital, it's freaking child abuse.
