Why isn’t Ben throwing middle of the field?

Ward and Miller used to own the middle of the field. Seems like all our throws are outside now?

Makes me worried Steelers are becoming extremely 1-dimensional. Mostly throws vs run, and only far outside. A good defense will take advantage of that.

It is one thing if Ben was hitting guys down field in stride, but rarely seems to happen either. Most of time Ben is just looking for a PI deep to Claypool.

Cause our Offensive Coordinator sucks and lets Ben play strictly matchups instead of designed plays. We're 11-0 though so nothing will change and Ben will continue the quick out routes.

It seems we are playing mostly safe. Most of our scoring comes off turnovers, which is why we are high in points but low in yards.

Have noticed this too, is he afraid of balls getting tipped at the line maybe?

Throwing shorter passes means less arc on the ball, which is why they're getting batted down. So that would make sense.

On that note, it doesn't bother me when his passes get batted down. It's when they get batted up that it scares the bejesus out of me.

Some of it might be the timing because of how Defenses play us... Most Teams play single high and press with inside leverage this means it takes double moves to get inside ..We need to hit the deep sideline ball to force teams out of that Defense..

I feel like the crossing routes to Juju have been there.

JuJu and James Washington, and Ray Ray are the only receivers that are not afraid to go over the middle.

The offense is becoming the poor version of the Cheats dink and dunk. Marshy made his living loving the DINK and dunk

Our passing game is definitely worrying. Ben just isn't playing like I am used to... he seems to get rid of the ball in a hury. Seems like the injury effected his arm strength more than I thought. We currently have almost the lowest YPC avg in the league right now... however we do have alot of passing TDs. Alot of questionable playcalling as well... thank god our defense has been great.

Because Ben can no longer throw over the Defensive line over the middle without it being batted down.
