We could also add around 90% of the players from the 1960's and before, I suppose.

John Rienstra, Chris Kolodjieski, Weegie Thompson, Wayne Capers, Huey Richardson, Alonzo Jackson, Jamain Stephens, Chris Kemoeatu (maybe not one of the worst, but one of the dumbest), Mark Malone, Kent Graham, Limas Sweed, Tyrone (running in the mud) Carter...

Off the top of my head. Give me some time to research it and I'm sure I could come up with some more.

    ?????

He qualified for NFL pension before he ever stepped foot on the field.
    That's a bad dude!
    :)

How about worst front office person?
Whoever decided NOT to draft Danny.

    Hmmm, cutting Unitas/passing on Danny.
    Which one is worse?

What did Ben do against the Raiders? What game/year? I don't remember anything from Ben (or anyone!) coming close to touching Maddox's Houston game.

Johnson can't block. He went to the wrong meetings, but 3 years of being a starting fullback and he still can't block? He's not the worst Steeler ever, but he's absolutely on the hook.

Thank you! Washington came to my mind immediately! Also, and this could be because he was playing on the wrong side, but I think John Scott is one of the worst players I have EVER seen.

Although I do think Flowers was overrated... Tyrone Carter, Anthony Smith, and Myron Bell were all worse.

Here is an interesting fact about Woodley: Woodley is one of two quarterbacks in NFL history (Ken Stabler) to have a career winning percentage above .600 while also throwing at least 10 more interceptions than touchdowns. Woodley's career record was 34-18-1 (.651) despite throwing 63 interceptions against his 48 career touchdown passes.

Kemo is getting a bad rap due to his recent play but for awhile he was a ecent guard and a great puller. he wasn't great but he was decent to good.

Of well known players, I couldn't stand Kordell-- the whole slash thing really rubbed me the wrong way. Mark Malone gets my vote for second worst-- he was embarrassing awful.

Going to put the link in here. This one was all Ben, even though he was coming off a concusion. Limited the Raiders to 98 yards and lost due to Interceptions run back. The next week he had another 3 INTs 2 at the 3 yardline, but he threw for over 400 yards.

Johnson hasn't "really" been a FB, he's gotten no work at blocking in practice. Now that the story is out, I'm going to see what he does this year. If you go back and look at my posts you will see I hated on him a whole lot. I wantred him cut immediately, and I still believe his missed block was the game changer in the SB. I can't help but put that on coaches. He's excited to work on his blocking technique this year. That's from his own mouth and Heath backed him up on that. If he stinks it up again this year, I'll back that worst ever FB right with you.

Like somebody said in a previous post when we faced green bay in the super bowl we were the number 2 team when running right and kemo pulled on a lot of them. He was one of the better pullers in the league his knees were just shot .

I remember the game, and I remember it being bad... but I don't remember it being that bad. Those are some ugly numbers. As far as excuses go, I guess both guys have some. Maddox was returning from injury, and Ben was in that awful 2006 season of his following the motorcycle and appendix. He was a total mess all season. I stated at the time I would have played Charlie Batch as long as possible. Cowher foolishly rushed Ben back. Also, apparently he'd just had a concussion 1 week earlier against Atlanta. Similar games, similar circumstances.

Maddox still has him beat pretty easily though if you ask me. Houston had 47 total yards (Carr = 3 completions) to Oakland's 98, 3 first downs to Oakland's 9, 10 punts, and they were an expansion team. Maddox gave them 21 points directly, and it was all on him. The fumble was particularly awful. Basically, Oakland played better than Houston, and it was a closer game too. Our defense played better against Houston (1.2 yards allowed per play) than it did against Oakland (2.8 yards allowed per play). Ben gave them 14 points, but also managed to put up a TD, and threatened at the end. Being bit in the ass by a Najeh Davenport false start from the Oakland 5 didn't help. Not excusing his play, probably the worst game of his life going back to kindergarten, but Maddox takes the cake.

The SB is a perfect example of a missed block that has nothing to do with what meetings he went to or what position he broke off into for drills. He had one guy to block, it was clear as day for everyone in the stadium, then he saw another guy out of the corner of his eye, panicked, and went between them and missed everybody. I refuse to believe he's gotten no work at blocking in practice. I'm sure he didn't get as much as if he was treated at a fullback (for example, he misses out during position drills), but when they do full team practice -- running plays with the whole offense against a defense -- they play him like they do in the games. What do you think, they put him at fullback for 25 plays in a game but zero plays during team offense practice? Is he out during that time, or just playing tight end? Who is at fullback? Did they not have one in practice? I think that's all baloney. He had practice time. They were in denial about his being a fullback (my theory is a BA ego thing, but I don't know) and that undoubtedly hurt his development. But what's on tape is on tape, and it's a bad blocker. Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt for every single missed assignment, he's got no excuse for the standard issue crappy plays, of which he had millions.

    Steeley Mc`Beam, and the Steelerettes...
Other than the qb`s(Brister, Malone, Graham...)... I really couldn`t think of a runningback, receiver, lineman, or defensive player, who I would consider the absolute WORST...
It`s good to be a Steeler fan. :)

    Positive thinking!

Steely McBeam is probably the best answer on here so far, despite the fact he isn't even a player - does anybody actually like him?

    Good question.

I would say cutting Unitas, as they had at least seen what he was like next to the other contenders.

Our 80's teams were pretty solid but minus a QB. But Unitas was cut when were awful, so the decision seems more of a mystery.
