If they could all dress ....I would bet money they would be used.

If they dressed and all played they would all get an NFL salary

Now what are you doing with the cap

Norwood - probably makes the team due to lack of quality depth at the position. Killebrew and Muse are STers only and Norwood has flexibility. He looks good sometimes and awful others.
Pierre - Reliable back up CB and quality STer. Never going to be a starter, but is fine enough. Probably makes the team on ST but we will probably be keeping 6 if we do.
Loudermilk - Makes it. He's an ok back up. Never really progressed like we hoped, but hasn't been a total disappointment either.
White - ST. Doubt he makes the roster without a special camp. Lots of competition here. Probably will have to beat out Boykin for a spot. Butler and Gunner still fighting for a spot too.
Gentry - Makes it I think. He could be cut if we are fine rolling Heyward as the 3TE and someone else at FB
Dotson - Makes it unless he whines his way off the team. He's too good of a player to not make the team, just not good enough to be the long term solution
Green - Cut. He sucks. So badly.
Adams - They added a lot here, so it says that they either don't think he's the answer (or at the very least wanted a stiff competition). Will have to ball out to make it. I think he gets cut.
Killebrew - ST only. Going to be a number of spots on the line here. Competing with Norwood, Pierre, Boykin, Muse, Riley, etc. Gonna have the inside track, but could be a numbers game. I can live with cutting him
McFarland - I'd like to see him make it. We don't have any ideal #3's, but if he can be the KR and RB3, I don't see the issue keeping him.
Gunner - Time to cut him. Came here to be the PR specialist and lost the job. Not someone you feel good about in the passing game. Better options. Will still have a shot if he wins the PR job again, but its an uphill battle.

This is the Rooney's we are talking about. Greyhound tickets, a FEMA trailer and Taco Bell coupons.

you’re only talking about 7 people. Over the course of a season you’re looking at less than 100k in additional expenses. That’s nothing for nfl team to absorb and write off. In reality it’s probably less than 50k in additional expenses. Teams aren’t traveling on commercial flights with the peons. They charter planes so it doesn’t t matter if it’s 48 or 55 people on board

I'm not sure the comparison fits. Heyward was already a versatile guy in college, playing tailback and fullback as well as tight end. The weakness in his game so far has been blocking, which was Nix's strength.

They are getting a NFL salary....I'm not talking about the practice squad. I'm talking about the active roster. You probably know this, but not all the active roster is allowed to dress on game day, and I have always found that stupid. Only 48 players out of Your 53 man roster can dress, and it was even less before.

Nix was also a defensive end throughout high school and college. The falcons converted him to fullback.

I know. I was assuming everybody knew that when I mentioned the contrast with Heyward, who played running back and tight end in college.

The rule of 51 applies here. Those players don’t move the needle at all.

Nix was an extremely quick d-lineman.

I still think Hayward can play that multiple role including 3rd rb.

I think Riley sticks. This list are bubble guys I think. Many showed a little and digressed some or the numbers game may affect them.

I was listening to a Steelers podcast, and they said Riley could be a guy they try in the slot.

I sure hope Gunner is gone. The Steelers have Austin3 and Jordan Byrd on their roster now. Both were electric in college with punt and kick returns.
