MR start against a desperate Stains team in their historic chance to get into the playoffs, in their house, with backups isn't some proof that he's legit? Some? He didn't get blown out with regulars at home the next week in a playoff game the next week but I guess that is proof Ben is starting caliber? If the QB's were reversed the last two games, all hell would break loose against MR for 4 picks and getting destroyed by the end of the 1st half. Since it was Ben though, crickets.

Where have you been. He’s been getting killed all off season, half this board wanted him to retire and move on.

He’s my single biggest concern for this season.

Rudolph has a decent game and suddenly that erases a season of some of the worst QB play I have ever seen. I know he had just about the rudest introduction to his rookie year but he was awful.

Hodges, Dobbs, Vick, Jones and Dixon were worse than Rudolph. Rudolph actually won some games. Is he as good as Batch and Leftwich? No.... but he's one of the better backups we've had in the Roethlisberger era.

First off, comparing Rudolph to a sucky Ben performance is a red herring. Yes, Ben stunk it up in the playoff game, for sure. This isn't about Ben, we know he is at the end and needs to retire. Look at Rudolph's body of work and tell me he is a legit starting caliber NFL QB. You can't because he ain't. Hanging your hat on what he did in the last game against the stains that was an L? He has had a couple of bright spots in 9 starts but way more head scratchers. He doesn't have poise in the pocket, looks slow, like he's a half step behind the play, throws behind, high, low, accuracy isn't good, and he plays scared after getting his ass handed to him. Bro, you're grasping at straws.

Saying Rudolph is better than those guys may be true but that ain't saying much. If that is your measuring stick, you have very low standards.

We'll see. I don't see Roethlisberger playing all 17 games. The jury is still out on Rudolph and the Steelers would be stupid not to give him another shot. If he sucks, then draft QB in round 1 next year.

I for one think Rudolph can be good. JMO.
I've seen some QBs that some gush over on here, play some way worse games than I've seen Rudolph, but I don't bring those up , because one season....let alone one game doesn't make ,or break a Qb.
I could make list of the QBs I've seen people Gush over ...that they will not even admit they liked now.
Just because I joined not long ago ...doesn't mean I haven't been reading here a long while.
With all that said I hope Ben is fine.
Whether You believe it or not QBs of Ben abilities don't come around every year.
Lot more 2 being a Great Qb than...Arm strength, and How fast you run.
    We could draft a
Qb every year for 10 straight year , and not get one as Good as Ben.

I agree with most on what you wrote. I think we all agree that Ben needs to go enjoy retirement. We all also likely agree that time will tell as far as Rudolph is concerned. But, to infer that he hasn't already been given a shot is not true. He had a golden opportunity when Ben went out for the shoulder. And he did not show well with that opportunity. If he had capitalized on that golden opportunity, then we would never have been debating whether it should be him or an undrafted FA named Duck under center. Once Ben got on the field as a starter, he never looked back unless he was physically unable to play. That certainly is not the case with MR and at this point, being a mediocre career BU journeyman is closer to his grasp than being a franchise QB, or even a quality starter for that matter.

I don’t know about being better than all those guys but if you are pitching him as a backup, that’s fine. I’m saying he’s not a starter in this league, sure as heck isn’t a franchise QB.

We need to see if Bush is going to be the same fast player, coming back from his knee injury.

He was drafted to contain Lamar, lets hope he improved dramatically in pass defense. He is a liability in
    pass defense.
