    Chief
    Green
    Lambert
    Franco

*Not having the the Emperor Chaz in there seems sacrilegious but I think the 3 players are so iconic to what Steeler football is all about I couldn’t replace anyone of them.

Wow..the first time I have see Rod's name. Lost in the greatness of the winning years its easy to forget just how great he was. Certainly worthy of the recognition.

He was my favorite player as a kid. It was really between him and Greg Lloyd for my Rushmore.

    Mean joe
    Blount

    Ben
    Troy
Watt will be on there if he stays healthy.
Heath is a consideration for overall great Steeler

Lol..yes indeed. Even groupings you could probably get 4. Front office and management the Chief and Dan Rooney, Noll and how could you leave Bill Nunn off? Db's Blount, Shell, Woodson, and Troy. Fun list to think about, and still have more names than spots.

The names left off are certainly subject to personal reflection. I included Franco because for me his rookie year and beyond formulated what the Steelers became. Winners and champions. Certainly Green and Lambert were equal to that. I've quoted it before and only recently found the person who said it, Dan Rooney said before Franco we did not win many games, after we did not lose many. I remember his popularity as a rookie, but also the humility as I remember him pulling a Salvation Army bell in a Christmas parade to raise awareness for that charity. Not really a big deal, but something that just hit the right spot. He represented the team and city so well.

    The entire 70's Steeler Teams.
    4?

Rocky Bleier - "Rock - the team's not doing well. We need you. ~Art Rooney"
    Mean Joe Green
Jack Lambert - My all-time favorite with Dick Butkus and Sam Huff.
    Troy Polamalu
Terry Bradshaw - Might not have been able to spell cat if he were spotted the 'c' and the 't' but he could throw a football and I am partial to QB's anyway.

I would have to build a bigger mountain.

Joe Greene - made me a Steelers fan
Franco Harris - made me a Steelers fan for life
Jack Hambert -(Jack Ham with a couple of missing teeth)
Terry Bradshaw - because he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

I think you're all missing the point - if apples and apples is the rule - I'd say:

    (Nate) Washington
    (Roy) Jefferson
    Roosevelt (Nix)
Abraham (Nunez) - can't recall any Abrahams or Lincolns who played for the Steelers (no not Keith Lincoln of the old AFL) but Abraham Nunez did play for the Pirates.

True, how in the world can we leave Chuck Noll off the list. His chiseled features were made to be carved in stone!

Must admit, beyond being the greatest coach ever I was thinking the same thing. Might have to replace one of my player choices with him. It just feels right.

Franco is there because he defines a generation of not only Steelers football but the NFL in general. The Immaculate Reception will forever be tied to the sport and the Steelers.
Lambert, his play and just his look defines what being a Steeler is about.
Mean Joe, is there because he was the change that started it all and that change became Steeler football.
These three guys define why commentators and players even now still talk “Steelers Football” you still hear it today Even from the young.

The Chief, well, he’s the chief, nuff said.

    I would seriously say

    Mean Joe
    Troy P
    Terry Bradshaw
    Big Ben

gotta put in the 2 QBs who won our 6. We had other very good teams at different times but notice we never won it all with the Bubby Brister/Neil O/Kordells of the world.

Art Rooney Sr because he hired Noll.

Chuck Noll because he drafted Joe.

Joe Green because he changed the attitude.

Jack Lambert because he's Jack freaking Lambert.

If there was a fifth or it would be Mel Blount he changed the game, literally.

I believe Dan Rooney selected Noll as coach.

I included only players on my list, but if it included front office, my four would be:

    1. Dan Rooney - he told his dad to not allow Buddy Parker to trade draft picks. He was the one who pushed to hire Chuck Noll. And he was the one who told front office/Cowher to draft Roethlisberger. He did miss on Marino because he thought Gabe Rivera would be the new Joe Greene.

    2. Chuck Noll - He changed the Steelers culture

    3. Bill Nunn - Blount, Stallworth, Dwight White, LC Greenwood, Donnie Shell, Ernie Holmes, etc.

    4. Joe Greene
