Who has the oldest towel?

My first towel was purchased at the STEELERS vs Broncos game 10/23/88. Which we won 39-21
At the time the towels were more yellow than gold. Mine now is almost white.However I refuse to retire it.Was waving it proudly in the South end zone against the Bungals.23+ year old towel.

Sure there are towel stories out there older than mine. Lets hear them.

 

I have one that was given to me in '93 or so, much like yours. More yellow in color. It's been hanging on the wall for 18 or so years, never game used as far as I know.

 

I know I have one tucked away in a trunk from like 93 or 94. Got it for Christmas from mum.

 

1978 for me

 

1979 after SB XIV for me. My Dad gave it to me when I was 11. And like others it started out more yellow and has faded more over the years. It is a little frail at this point and has taken a place of honor in the collection and only comes out on special occassions as a conversation piece. No more wild waving for this one as I'm not sure it could handle much more. We save that for the newer and less sentimental TT's.

 

I have had mine since 1993 when I was 8 years old. Still use it, losing it's color more light yellow now. It's been to ever single steelers game with me. I once forgot it on my way to Heinz field, I was half hour from home when it hit me. I turned around went back and got it. Can you feel the love?

 

Still have the one my brother gave to me back on christmas day 1978. It has never been washed!

I must add about my TT that has never been washed.
After the AFCCG back before the Steelers were to play in SB XL, I had all three of my TT's laying around the living room from partying the night before and woke up late in the morning, the wife was doing laundry and I walked in the Laundry room and the the TT's were next in line to go into the wash. I almost flew off the hook. She's looking at me saying "what? They need cleaned".
I'm starting to think that she washed it before last years SB and the ex may have done the same before SB XXX.

 

Well, I 'had' mine since '90 when the soon to be wife and I bought them at 3 Rivers. They were marked so we always had the right one. But that's all behind us now, because I left mine on the trunk in the parking garage after the Jacksonville game :bye: and now it's gone. and I had to buy a new one.

Oh well...BUT, if anyone on the board found it in the Allegheny Center garage, please PM me. There may even be a reward :o

 

Does your towel have "MYRON COPE'S OFFICIAL" printed on top?

Im trying to determine when that was added.

Hmmm... so thats what happened. Wouldn't dream of washing any of the TT's. That is just wrong.

 

The one I got for Christmas in 78' is not a MYRON COPES OFFICIAL TERRIBLE TOWEL.
