I've been away from the action in recent months, but among the possibilities you've seen, what do you think are the best and worst-case scenarios for the Steelers in the draft for you?

I don't keep up with college fb, but I know I don't want us to draft Sanders, he is the most over hyped, headach waiting to be drafted... THAT being said I'm sure Tomlin has already fell in love with him. and is prepared to put the pick in...lol

Okay, I understand there’s some frustration with the organization, but the old Browns and Bungals? We’re nowhere near those crapfests. We need some changes, for sure, but those teams, the Browns specifically, have gone through nightmare season, after nightmare season, that Steelers fans couldn’t even fathom…. Never mind experience.

It's possible it was a bit too much to compare us to the Browns or Bengals at their worst(Browns since 1999 and bengals in 1991 to 2002), but right now I'm comparing the Steelers (since 2019) to the Bengals when they kept Marvin Lewis for way too long, when it was obvious after 2010 (or before that) he wasn't the right man.

Right now, the Steelers are stuck in the middle, they remain stuck with problems for way too long(Austin is still our DC  and so many other example before that too), their offensive philosophy is very poor, and our sorry defense is always poor in the playoffs but nothing change :confused1:

IDK. But i do know that the last time we took a QB from Colorado, it didn't work out very well. And I wouldn't want to waste a 1st on repeating that experiment.

But I'm sure I'll convince myself that whoever we took is awesome.

That's because we had a coach who couldn't do his job. Like we do now.

    I'll be doing the same.

Worst case scenario is Jalen Milroe unless we plan on running the wishbone.

So if Sanders is available you would want the Steelers to pass on him

    Im not arguing just clarifying

I would instantly throw up if the Steelers traded up to get Sanders. I would then probably consume massive amounts of alcohol and have to call off work on Friday.

I’m just kidding. Probably just turn off the TV and go to bed very disappointed. The reality of it is I could definitely see Tomlin encouraging that plan.

I'm in! Dare to be different.

Mix in triple option and wishbone. Why not?

I am honestly not going to be upset if they draft Milroe, that running ability, if he's even an average passing QB, well, thats a pretty good QB in this age of no-tackling-allowed-that-isn't-a-warm-hug.

I feel like if they DO like Milroe, they really need to trade back and try and get another 3rd or 2nd round pick, OR maybe hope to get a 1st NEXT year to move back 10 spots?

I think Khan and Weidl have been good, so I don't see a Colbert head-scratching draft pick. That said, after several perplexing draft picks over the past 15 years, I am also guarded and prepared to be WTF! Especially if Tomlin is smiling, it means he got his awful "project" that never produced in college, but has great measurables.

    Except in the 1st round!!!

Last year when the #20 pick Steelers went on the clock not a single CB had been drafted. The Steelers could have had their pick at CBs like #22 pick Quinyon Mitchell (D-ROY #2), #24 pick Terrion Arnold (D-ROY #15), or #30 pick Nate Wiggins (D-ROY #11).

For Khans 2 drafts there is only a lot of wishful thinking in the players he has been drafting in the 1st round. I would say Khan is a total bust in the 1st round right now; maybe the 2025 season will prove me wrong. Everyone is hoping Jones can bounce back from a terible season last year, and that Troy sees the field for more than half a game.

What I want: Anyone that will help us not give up 299 rushing yards in the playoffs

What I don’t want: Drafting a marginal QB prospect, AKA Kenny Pickett, in the first round.

True but with our outdated defensive scheme, regardless of the players, our problems will remain the same as long as the Steelers have the same defensive philosophy... I've been saying this since our disastrous game against the Pats in the 2016 playoffs, but nothing's changed.

Keith Butler was way too long as DC and when he retired, his assistant took his place....But the problems and results are still the same for the steelers when it matter the most
