First, I still don't believe McCarthy is the right hire.

Second, being .500 over a three-year span in the playoffs is much better than being 0-7 in the last seven playoff games.

And third, of the three losses the Rams have had in the playoffs, three were on the road, all three were close games, and two of those games were against the eventual Super Bowl champions.

The Seahawks and the Eagles completely dominated the other opponents they played in these playoffs; only the Rams gave those two teams a run for their money.

The Steelers have trailed by 21 points or more in the last seven playoff games(a NFL record), so there's no comparison between the current situation of the Rams and the Steelers.

McVay is 10-6 in the playoffs in his career,Tomlin is 8-12,McCarthy is 11-11

This seems like a desperate attempt to say that coaching isn't that important.

    Not at all.

I’m just saying people would complain about any season that doesn’t end in a SB.

What are McCarthy and McVay’s record in playoff games without a HOF caliber QB?

    You like looking up stats.

Coaching is important. Scouting is important. Injury luck is important. Team culture is important.

But you can’t coach talent you don’t have. The Steelers don’t have the required talent. Until they do, nothing else matters. It’s all window dressing.

And I have no interest in talking about 2015 or whatever other previous Steelers team your going to bring up.

My statements are not about Tomlin or previous teams. They’re about realistic and precedent based expectations for the 2026 Steelers.

The rams make the super bowl in 2018 with Goff.Overall the rams were 3-3 in the playoffs in 4 seasons before the Stafford era.I don't think Goff will be in the hall of fame

Ok. I’m assuming you didn’t include McCarthy’s record for a reason. Wonder what that could be?

This is 1-3 for McCarthy....And I said in post 51 at the start that I don't think McCarthy is the right hire.Tomlin is a better head coach that McCarthy

New thoughts that’s rich coming from a guy who is in lock step with AR2 happy with and striving for mediocrity. Complete loser mentality.

Again, I’m not concerned about Tomlin. His legacy will be what it will be. Who knows; he may coach again.

what I’m trying to get folks to realize is that all these coaches Steelers fans get all hot and bothered talking about have FAR superior QB situations than the Steelers will have for the foreseeable future.

that’s a massive part of why these guys are successful.

Vrabel is almost every Steelers fan’s favorite dream hire. He’s a good coach. Lots of reasons to think so. But whenever his QB play has been bad, his teams have had a losing record.

Harbaugh is another one almost universally acclaimed by Steelers fans. He has a losing record without Lamar Jackson playing due to injury during the seasons their Ravens careers overlap.

Coaches need talent. Particularly at the QB position.

Well that certainly is the mindset of the Steelers. Oh darn, our QB stinks, what are we to do.

Rams had a QB that reached the SB and didnt even sit on that. Thats the whole point of this thread, which front offices are the best.

But listening to you and some of the other fans here everything is just left to chance and no one can do anything about it.

Proof is you attacking any poster who says something negative about a coach, owner and organization that hasn’t won a playoff game in a decade. Wake up.

I’m happy Tomlin is gone but I think the issues may be deeper than that with AR2.

There’s plenty a team can do about if they’re honest with themselves about their status and what they need to move forward.

Look at the FO’s that are being praised here. They amassed resources, took risks, and obtained the talent they believed was necessary to win.

If the Steelers are serious about building their next long term contending team, they’ll trade 2026 assets for future draft assets.

Take the Eagles. They regularly did that. Did not end up using the assets to get a QB. But build a formidable front 7 by bullying their way through the first two rounds of consecutive drafts.

The Rams, years ago, were in the exact same situation as the Steelers. Instead of going with a safe veteran coach hire; they went with McVay.

No NFL team has jumped the tracks from meh to whoa they’re good without taking risks. The Steelers are risk averse. It’s gonna be a long road that way.

So you agree with me? Ownership sucks and has no vision or ability to admit the need for a rebuild? AR running it back is a horrible idea? Alright then we are on the same page. I guess I misread your last 2000 posts trying to mock anyone who speaks negative of the big bad mighty Steelers.

I mock whiney people, liars and trolls

It has nothing to do with speaking negatively of the Steelers it’s a message board

I criticize the team regularly and apparently after reading my last 2000 posts you failed to remotely comprehend this

Im just not repetitively whiney like some of you

    But you be you

    Top Front Offices.... Hmmmm.

The Rams do find ways. I like that.
The Patriots seem to make great moves too.
KC, I'm not so sure about, maybe.... I think this year determines a lot.
Noteworthy - The Jet always wind up with great draft picks, the problem is: They ruin them or make bad choices.

The worst Front Office is owned by the Cleveland Browns and it is not even close. Garrets recent remarks encompass and solidify that standing. They took that position from Washington immediately after Snyder was sent away.
Maybe they should be forced to sell.

    1. Rams
    2. Da Bears - kinda crazy.
    3. 49ers (are kidding, Lynch is awesome)
    4. Denver. This is shaky but they are on a roll. They could fall fast after this year.
    5. New England. Well, they did find a coach and they have a roster. Ditto the Denver comments here.
    6. Eagles. Makes me puke to say this.
    7. Seattle. On the rise.
    8 KC. A deciding year.
    9. Chargers. Love what they are doing, can they keep doing it?
    10. Washington - A very pivotal year for Adam Peters. I think last year, they trimmed off too many 'role players' and age caught them. I want to see if Peters can build a team with $90mil and those picks.

I'd rank the Steelers around 16-22. Omar hasn't solved the QB let alone a WR in 2/3 years. I'd say he's on the hot seat but this is the only franchise other than the Cleveland that he could produce so poorly in.
I'm really hoping for a dish of crow, but I am doubtful.

I'm confused. Only team to be in the SB 5 times in the last 10 years, and yet everyone is ranking multiple teams above them. LoL
Are we talking about SBs , or playoff wins??
Are the Chiefs not cool enough because they don't keep trading away all their draft picks??

It's not suck BBQ it's just different. I personally like different types of BBQ. I Like Texas BBQ the best, but like coleslaw for 3 example, I like different versions for different reasons, and I don't dislike any of it.
