We have witnessed this for 9 years people, poor poor
decisions being made at critical times. Time mgmt and sitiuational football
are not one of coach T's strong spots. LOL

We have such a bad kicker because we saw two of our starting kickers go out with long term injuries. Even then, Scobee was probably the most reliable of all the available options. And none of that has anything to do with 'coaching'.

I get we're all mad, but can we not at least try to make sense?

As for reasons for the defeat - Vick didn't work well on the pressure downs; I think we'd all rather have someone else there. He also seems to drop back about 30 yards before throwing, which killed a few drives. Scobee was over-adjusting for the conditions, and Haley had one of his classic overthinking games. Some questionable calls on 4th down - that's on Tomlin (but, while I wouldn't defend those decisions, I would ask which is the more reliable unit, our offense or our special teams...?)

This loss isn't on Tomlin. It was actually a good gameplan. The Steelers damn nearbbeat the Ravens with their QB throwing for 124 yards. The dink and dunk offfense almost did enough though they could have taken more shots. Still the announcer even chimed in about Vick not seeing DHB wide open on a button hook. That was a crucial play late too. Hard to fault a guy who went 19/26 with no turnovers which is huge for Vick. He just isn't close to being Ben.

Miller isn't a bad choice. Bell or Brown are usually open though. They are harder to cover especially Bell vs. LBs.

No play should go to the flats in a crucial situation vs. the Ravens. They are a bad defense now but still really good at defending the flats. Can't go wide on them with regular success running or throwing.

I remember a time when we went for it on a 4th down and threw it against them. That time it was complete and Tomlin was a genius for going for the win.
    Be consistent people

I was in total favor of going for it but the ball should have went to Bell or at LEAST Bell should have been in the backfield. The fact that they lined him up in the slot and then go empty with a scrub qb in the backfield in THAT situation is just inexcusable. Now if the rats would have had a winning record I would say that it would be fine for Vick to throw but since they are below .500 we really have to be careful against them with Tomlin as the coach. LOL.

Well since the Rats punter can get it to AB and the Steelers qb can't I'd say ST is the more reliable unit. LOL. SO much blame to go around but Tomlin ok'd those plays coming out of the timeouts and also took the timeout to decide to go for it and then dialed up that play to AB that was incredibly poorly designed for situational football. Haley shouldn't even have suggested such a dumb play. We also continued to see poor tackling last night. I don't know how much more of that we are gonna have to see but it needs to be fixed and now. There's so much to be sick about in this game and a few hours sleep have done basically nothing to squelch my anger. I don't even think I will get unmad about this game if we go undefeated to the Super Bowl from here on out. I HATE losing to the stupid rats. I would rather lose by one million points to ANY team in the league that by one to these clowns.

Tomlin said "my bad" after it. I think if Haley DID make it the way we will know is that Tomlin will skirt the issue in this week's presser. Even though I am livid with Tomlin right now I will say that he has never shied from responsibility when it comes to a bad call. I think if Tomlin chose to throw instead of run he will say so. I say he did because the final authority in that situation I'm sure rested with him. The same way Manning used to wanna go for it and Dungy would overrule him. Those are the decisions the HC is paid to make.

This is EXACTLY how I feel. There is PLENTY of blame to go around and they ALL deserve it.
