I need to get 8 tickets to the Steelers/Ravens game on Oct 1. I know they're going to be expensive and getting 8 tickets to any sporting event can be tough. So when do tickets go on sale to the general public? Other than sites like Stubhub, where else would be good to look?

Can't remember if it's late June or late July that tickets go on sale to the general public. It's not a lot of tickets and if memory serves me correct you're probably only going to get either two or four seats that are together.

Yeah somewhere in that range...and yes they limited how many you can get to a game...I'm thinking 4. So you might need to have 2 computers going and 2 different Ticketmaster accounts and each try to get 4 seats (though they probably won't be together). Or you can always wait and hope somebody has that many seats together and puts them up for sale on the Ticket Exchange or Stub Hub or something. But it'll be rough getting that many (especially together).

I have a better question. Where in the crap have you been Shaner? I was thinking the other day that I felt like I hadn't seen you in a coon's age. (that's a long time in case you didn't know)

I just haven't been on the computer as much as before. Just couldn't find the time to get on here as much.

I know you weren't looking to go that route, but I have bought 8+ tickets all together on the ticket exchange before.

Having regularly sold tickets in the past for one reason or another, I have found an eb and flow to prices.

Right now prices are high. The tickets out there are being sold by people in it for the profit.

Day after ticketmaster sells out in June or July. People are pissed because they couldn't get them. This is when I sold mine.

Middle of training camp. This when people have found out for one reason or another they can't go. Wedding, etc. prices tend to be more fair.

During the season. This varies wildly based on opponent, record and weather. I would rather throw darts at the stock market page than predict this?

The week leading up to the game seems to be the cheapest.

True. Actually, right before game time is the cheapest. Makes planning a bit of a challenge.

At a Super Bowl once, a guy with a handful of tickets tossed them up in the air and walked into the game right as the whistle blew for the opening kick,

I got some better seats on this presale than I have in a while. Usually I'm in the second to last row.

Typically, from what I gathered in the past, any tickets sold now tended to be all over the place and a lot of singles. Unfortunately, If you want 8 reasonably close together, StubHub may be your only option. Not cheap, but there are options with 8 in a row. More options with 4 in a row, but not much cheaper.

Ticketmaster has been good to me the last couple of years. I was able to score 2 club level seats one behind the other for the Oakland game. Sure beats paying Stubhub/Ticket Exchange prices

Not even a little bit. What's worse is I now need 9 tickets. Obviously I'm not getting 9 together, but hopefully I can get a block of 5 and then a block of 4. I'm going to have to buy them off Stub Hub
