When did Cam become a whiny....

I'm not a fan of current players having a podcast, every week something Cam says will become a story .

 

I wrote it on the other thread piss poor character for a captain and Leader of the Team. B#@%h hasn’t won anything since he has been here with too much to say IMO!

 

I bet all this crap is coming from Cam reading the comments on his youtube podcast.

Reading you say it like that, I understand. And that's where i say let the guy go play somewhere else. He's not going to become anything with here.

 

That's the other thing, this isn't someone to be labeled as a leader anymore.

 

I completely forgot Chelsea Clinton was on SNL.

 

I have no problem with Connor Heyward as a special teams player/hybrid FB-TE.... as long as he's contributing and not a liability.

I miss the days of Dan Kreider at FB making Ravens' LBs (Lewis, Suggs) cry when blocking for the Bus.

 

I don't this has any bearing on being a "Leader" - none what-so-ever.

The is the NFL today, welcome to the Free Agency era.
Statistically, Cam was one of the best DT's, he had a good year and he is in the final year of his current contract.

The problem is that many of us are "Old School" and imprint the workplace happenings on a NFL schema. It doesn't work that way.
Me being old school recognizes the fact that I signed a 3-year deal and therefore should play out the 3-years.
But Free Agency has changed that.
I don't like it but it is what it is.

I also hate players on social media and especially Pod Casts.

I look at it as more of a GM problem.
Cam is 36-years old. He did have a productive 2024 season and performed with the upper half of DT's.
As a GM:
- I don't like a 3-year extension for a 36-year old DT. There is a time for older player to know when end is near and it's time to hang up the cleats and sometimes the GM has to make the tough call and let them walk.
- Cam has been a great player for us. I would have said: "You're 36 Cam.. let's add a year and I'll give you X$ (a raise) - that's the best I can do." We want him to call it a career here.
- Let's face it, there are not many teams going to go to a bid war for Cam's services. I don't even think I could find much trade value in him.
- I would want this to end on a good note. I would agree that a nice raise would be nice. But in the event Cam cannot agree and sits out a year, his career is basically over. He's a 37-year old Free Agent and that is a limited market.
- Let's be real, if I had any inkling early on that Cam wanted a contract that I am unwilling to give, which Omar did, I would have maybe gotten a 7th for him (maybe better if luck is on my side). I hate that scenario but it is business.

 

He has a podcast now, just like all the other pro athletes ... he needs to make waves to move the needle.
