Every time I turn around he's crying about something.

I'm being serious, is this dude going to become a locker room cancer? Can we even count on him to give us his all (even if we increased his salary)?

 

I don't see him being a locker room cancer...but I do agree that I'm over hearing his opinions. Off-season is rough...and not a fan of active players doing podcasts.

When's it's a quote of what he said on his podcast that I can verify. Yes.

When is stupid meme of watt giving a thumbs up and they say that means he's going to be traded. No.

 

I think this is a case where social media interaction between players and fans are a bad thing. A player shouldn't care what us fans think and just simply move on. A player doesn't necessarily need to be cold when dismissing fans opinion, just something that's best to be ignored.

Connor has been getting a lot of hate on social media, with people saying he's only on the team because of Cam.

 

Cam and Connor both need to stay off of social media and just play.

 

I saw his interview on something called "Steelers Depot" which I know nothing about.
What I took from it:
When asked about his brother - I thought he was clear in that he wants the media to focus on "Conner" Heyward and not the brother/brother stuff.
If you attend camp, you see Conner is one of those players that jams at 110%+
I was once told by James Thrash, who was always an "on the bubble" type player that the way to not get cut was to make yourself irreplaceable by doing everything.
James could actually play CB (he was a WR) and he played ST's, I even saw him practicing extra points and punting.
So, maybe he is playing violin somewhat, I get it.

I don't like players doing these Podcast things.
As the songs says "Players only love you when they are playing" Goes for fans too.
And then you toss in some toxicity as some players are getting raises for less. TJ and Garret probably deserved theirs, Parsons probably does as well.
It's really more of another example of what I keep harping on with the GM which not a lot of people have an understanding of.
It is a straight up thing:
- We can work something out
or
- We are not going to work something out.

 

Is anything he said wrong? I don't like airing the laundry for all to see but he isn't wrong. Conner's biggest problem is he plays on a team that can't seem to find a role for him. Tomlin loves swiss army knife guys but he can't seem to settle on what he wants from them. Conner should be FB/lead blocker/short yardage back/ third TE but out of the H-back look. He is being wasted currently behind guys struggling for snaps like he is. No way I'd put him on the edge as a regular TE unless its a TE screen because bigger edge guys throw him around all day.

 

Not to detract from your point... it just brought up something in my mind.

No bearing on Conner, other than the fact that maybe we should find better ways to utilize him?

 

At the risk of repeating what has already been said, Cam needs to take the high road here.

I get it, the commentary is frustrating, but it’s fans talking about sports. Without the fans there would be no advertisements, big media agreements, and large player contracts. I hate to say it comes with the territory, but it does.

When you are in the public eye, then you have to deal with all the extra stuff that comes with it.

 

Wasn’t he instrumental in getting Rust Wilson here, sticking his nose where it didn’t below? Asking for a friend.
