What's Cookin? round 2 sgetti and chili yuck edition

well close to santa coming to town. have to make the airport run again. hopefully back for the game. probably Christmas cookies, meatballs, hot sausage, wedding soup and maybe a primanti bros. samich while at the strip. busy times. anyway everyone have a great day and a Merry Christmas.

 

When I don't go to the game, I usually have a ritual of various types of wings and veggies.
But the way the Steelers have played this season, gives me lots of heartburn.
My wife is actually worse than I am about the team and has laid down the gauntlet. "We're not having them put a downer on Christmas so we are going shopping."
So, the game to watch and wager on is me figuring out ways to get out of that. My buddies fear her wrath and have tossed me under the bus.
I don't know if this version of the Steelers merits the risks.
It is probably Mall food.

I found a guy in the parking lot next to mine who does a whole layout of burgers dogs brisket wings pasta beer etc

Nothing better than Chinese food in a mall

 

There's a chinese restaurant in the mall we go to once in a while. Called amazing Wok. The mall is being torn down beginning the end of next month and they have moved to a restaurant. Some of the best chinese food in town

 

My wife asked me to go to the mall 2 Saturdays ago. I actually haven’t been to a mall in maybe a decade or possibly longer and that still rings true.

 

For the 2nd time it still is a crime to butcher spaghetti with chili.

 

A delicious homemade stromboli packed with peperoni, ham, genoa salami, cheeses or just a peperoni and cheese one because I do not know which one I stole from my sister's freezer. IMO she makes best I've ever had and she makes a ton of them every Christmas. She'll never know, been getting for years. Her moving a few houses over from me was like a new restaurant opening right up the street.

 

An assortment of deli style finger foods - cheese with truffles, cheese with apricots, Aussie Crok White Cheddar, a plethora of sliced Italian meats, bunch of different crackers with dips, fruit platter. Hope the game matches my appetite.

What's funny is my Lady has lived up here most of her life and won't eat locally caught fish. Something about Union Carbide's Vanadium mines and stream, lake and groundwater content.

I had a hip replacement many years ago and the hospital actually had very good food

 

Hope it's not too serious!
I was in this time last year with pneumonia. Of course, the hospital reported it to the state as Covid.

 

My wife's got meals all planned out for the next 2 days, so I'm not sure which one she's planning for tomorrow night.

However, I'll be making my stuffed mushroom recipe that I always make at Christmas time, and I made Hungarian nut rolls tonight that we'll eat during the game tomorrow.

 

No one is even wearing a mask in this hospital.
