well here's hoping the airplane works this week. sound like we are eating nothing. we asked my daughter in law what the theme is for this week and she said those starlettes don't eat anything out there to watch their figures. then fish taco's were mentioned and everyone gagged. i said that's like fish on pizza, it just doesn't belong together. i'm leaning towards nacho's grande. nachos with taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour creme. good and sloppy by the time you get to the bottom.

To celebrate the two lights that showed up on my dash, low gas and check engine light, I will fill myself gaseous substance and major heartburn afterward. Taco bell or Chili, why not both?

 

High of about 45 here today. I'm figuring either stew or pot roast.

We are heading out to a big restaurant for the early games with about a dozen bengals fans. Told them I’m out at the beginning of the 4 th quarter to watch the real game. Place has awesome wings. I will be buying for some of my neighbors cause they cut up and gave me a bunch of firewood while I was at work. Not all bengals fans are bad. I better not hear one flipping Who Dey today though.

 

There's not much better than a REAL fish taco! Problem is, they've been commercialized up here to the point of ridiculousness (thanks Rubios). Ya gotta use fresh fish. Grouper, pargo, dorado...... cabbage, not lettuce, white sauce lime and pico de gallo, Never EVER put cheese on it!
There was a woman years ago who made them out of the back of a stake bed truck in front of the Marina de La Paz. Her husband was a fisherman and the tacos were made from whatever he had caught that morning.

I am a fan. I also like shrimp tacos. I like to blacken them though rather than use traditional taco seasoning. Slaw instead of lettuce/tomato. No cheese. And a sweet heat pepper sauce like habanero or chipotle.

For me, Seville Orange coffee from Allegheny Coffee and cauliflower crust pizza with cheese that smells like people’s feet.
For the rat in my kitchen, poison. I described him last week in What’s.Cooking: he is the Einstein of rodents, won’t touch a baited trap except to kick it off whatever it is on to set it off, after which it eats the bait. If he can’t set it off, he avoids the trap or shoves it aside harmlessly. The little ****er is in the kitchen wall laughing at me. Little does he know that I shall prevail, it is all over but the squeaking.

 

I had a decent fish taco and shrimp taco for supper the other night but not today.
I smelled hickory smoke yesterday evening and through the night so I'm waiting to see which tasty meat my neighbor brings me this afternoon.

 

Tender roast chicken at half-time with mashed potatoes w/garlic and steamed broccoli.
5 1/2 beers during the game - wife with her Ben jersey on will have half a beer.
