Agreed. The freeze on the salary cap because of covid hurt his bottom line, so he stayed for what Pittsburgh offered. He's going to want to test the free agent waters this offseason and I don't blame him. Not a game breaker, but he's a tough inside receiver that gets the last couple of yards and moves the chains. Sign him if it makes sense financially, for sure. I'm alright going to war with the WR's they have currently. Claypool and Washington having better years next season could be big for the team.

honestly i dont think juju will want to come back. he came back on a 1 year deal thinking he was going to get the targets and build up his resume for a bigger payday. that didnt happen so now he is gonna wanna try it again and he knows it will be a futile effort here.

Big questions will need answered, thru the draft and FA. We have many holes
to fill not just starters but depth. Also coaching vacancies, Steelers must bring in people(coaches)meaning
I think multiple coaches need brought in to return to Steeler football. Some of the games I witnessed this year did not
make me think of Steeler football. These coaches, strength coach, ST coach,LB OL, DC ,OC should be able to teach
and motivate these players to play at a high pitch every game. This very well could be a transition year for these new coaches to adjust
the attitudes of some of these players?

    JuJu's choices are

    a) he could take a small one-year deal to show his worth and parlay that it into a big multi-year deal,

    or

    b) take a smaller multi-year deal now.

    (a) would be repeating this year, but with an uncertain QB situation the Steelers don't exactly look like a good place to show your wares. The only thing going in the Steelers favor, apart from any personal reasons for wanting to stay, is that he would be the undisputed #1 slot receiver here. If he wants to go the one-year route, then any other teams where he'd be the slot guy and with a decent QB would seem to be the better situation. For comparison the top paid slot receivers in terms of total guaranteed money are Keenan Allen, Tyreek Hill, and Tyler Lockett at $50M, $35M, and $37M respectively. That's they type of money that JuJu would be shooting for with a big 2022 on a one-year deal.

    (b) would be lower risk, but lower reward. Tyler Boyd's 2019 contract extension may be a good comparable. Boyd was 25 at the time, the same age as JuJu now. 4 year, $43M, $9M guaranteed. JuJu signed for $9M this year. He could sign something like that and than sign the big multi-year deal, I guess. Even if he did the Steelers QB situation still works against them compared to other teams.

Then there's the Steelers' POV. If JuJu won't take a one-year deal with the team, do you really want to tie up JuJu and a chunk of cap space for 3 or 4 years if you don't have a good QB? You might be better off spending that money on the OL and maximizing the investment on Najee.

or we could go all out and get rodgers similar to what the bucs have done and players may flock here to play. many of those players came with less of a deal then they could have gotten elsewhere to win a super bowl.
