Just to add a note, he was great as the slash and I agree he was better than Vick is at it.

He just couldn't QB! Other than that he was incredible.

    2008 Super Bowl Year

    Ben
    Yards passing 3301
    Rushing yards 101
    Total YARDS from scrimmage 3402
    TD's 17 -INT's 14
    2 Rushing TD's

    2001 AFC Championship

    Kordell
    Yards Passing 3109
    Rushing yards 537
    Total YARDS from scrimmage 3646
    TD's 14-INT's 11
    5 Rushing TD's

And Kordell did that on a running team...Between the Bus, Fu, Zereoue, and Kordell the team rushed for almost 2774 yards....That Ben led team 1690

Kordell ends the season gaining 244 more yards....scoring the same amount of TD's at 19....and turning the ball over 3 less times.....Difference is Ben wins it all....and Kordell throws two picks late when ST gives up 17 points.

Kordell was not one of the best of all time by any means....but he was easily the best option in Pitt for the majority of his career....and I would say probably a top 10 QB in the league during most of his career.

Again, Kordell Stewart, Top 5 QB?

Wait, take a moment to think and take a breath before those fingers start punching keys.[/quote:35v46vha]

Not top 5 in terms of laser-sighted passing efficiency, obviously.

But perhaps top 5 in terms of making trouble for defenses. Much in the same way that Josh Cribbs was a top 5 receiver a few seasons back - not in the traditional sense, but in the pain in the a** for DCs sense.

Chad "Mothf%^&*" Scott as I referred to him on a weekly basis. IF Scott would have been a Safety he would ve been a Pro Bowler IMO but God he was bad. His companion "Toast" Washington was awful as well

Willie Gay has nothing on the level of hatred there seemed to be for Chad Scott.

And it was all thoroughly, thoroughly deserved.

He stunk and he sucked and he could never win the big one!! :roflmao:

One last thing to remember is, although Kordell did not play that long ago, does anyone remember how different the game was then? Not only were we a running team without any real passing weapons, we were in a league where throwing for 300 yards was quite an accomplishment. If you got a passer rating of 80, you were pretty good. 90? MVP contender. 100? OMGGGGG! Now anything below 90 is grounds for benching, and when Chad Henne puts up 400 nobody bats an eye.

I shouldn't be surprised people are so ignorant about how he played for us. They were just as ignorant at the time.

Kordell was definitely not top 10 during most of his career. He had two good years sandwiched around 3 mediocre years. The 3 mediocre years by your stats:

    Kordell 1998
    Yards Passing 2560
    Rushing yards 406
    Total YARDS from scrimmage 2983
    TD's 11-INT's 18
    2 Rushing TD's

    Kordell 1999
    Yards Passing 1464
    Rushing yards 258
    Total YARDS from scrimmage 1835
    TD's 6-INT's 10
    2 Rushing TD's 1 Receiving TD

    Kordell 2000
    Yards Passing 1860
    Rushing yards 436
    Total YARDS from scrimmage 2296
    TD's 11-INT's 8
    7 Rushing TD's

    Seriously, the stats don't lie...
