What does the NFL put out to the teams this week?

If I'm the NFL brass, I'm making a few calls to head coaches talking about serious consequences if there's another "Questionable" major injury to a star player heading into these last few weeks.

I know some may say that's tampering, but the history going back 3 years isn't good in this game with the type of play generally seen with Burfict on the sidelines or in the game. Especially when I may lose ratings because of the lack of star power heading into the playoff stretch.

I doubt they do that. TheNFL really needs to keep their heads up for dirty play tho. Suspensions should penalize cheap shots just as much as they do weed IMO. That way guys are less likely to take these cheap shots and the guys that truly don't care will find themselves forking over game checks watching their teams play on the sidelines.

What the NFL needs to enact is to properly send a message within the context of their abilities that reside in the officials and enforce any misbehavior by either team...

...... Oh wait Lizard, nevermind. I heard this from the NFL about the AFC Wild Card game.... and look how that turned out. :lolol:

In short? Do not hold your breath on the competition committee doing much of anything if players like Kelvin Sheppard can twist Le'Veon Bell's neck like a Tootsie Roll...:mad:

I worry about the problem of playing against Burfect this game. Not due to cheap shots but because he really has been playing at another level the past couple of weeks and he more than likely wants to make up for that melt down loss in the playoffs.

I like the idea of having Nix seek and destroy Burfict every play.

I bet the NFL doesn't say boo... the refs know about the playoff game and it will probably be brought up in their pre game circle twerk but I would be surprised by anything more. Any words of caution will be introduced by the crew themselves before kickoff.

    This is true.

Nix was not there against him last season.

Let us find out how good he is when Rosie cleans his clock up a bit. Heck, if he does pound him into oblivion, by then, the entire defense will have been broken the same.

Pretty much so. If Kelvin Sheppard can twist necks like Tootsie Rolls then what is stopping Burfict and Pacman's shenanigans?

As far as Burfict, I'd like to have Harry Douglas for this week. If you don't know what I'm referring to, google "Harry Douglas/Chris Harris"

I don't usually talk like this about a player, but Burfict clearly doesn't care what he does to who...thus I wouldn't care either

I'm sure Marvin Lewis will have a stern talk with Burfict before the game telling him how he expects him to be really nice...

Yeah they really should promote someone from the practice squad and tell them they'll promote them to the roster if they sweep his leg.

I've said before that he's the one player that I wish would have a career ending injury and I'm not backing down. The dude is a first rate scumbag.

I'm thinking you will see the players behave and play within the rules for this game.

Refs are going to have zero tolerance will throw flags on unsportsmanlike conduct early and often if they see anything.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If Burfict learns how to tweek his game to playing inside the rules more then I would welcome him on the Steelers team 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. The guy is a top 5 player at his position. Who ever disagrees with that simply hasn't watched him. Living in Cincinnati, I get a good amount of observations to base that statement on.
