I have nothing against Him. I just don't like everything they have done 2 build that team. So I can't root for them, because I don't want what they have done 2 become the next thing in the NFL. IMO it bad for the game.

Fair point but this is not entirely known. It is not like the team is devoid of talent here. Along with finding the next one, investing in some Offensive Lineman is a good start. A "Thermonuclear Option" of a Wide Receiver is another as stretching the field in today's NFL is paramount. Shoring up that Run Defense will also be critical the same. Overall.. this will take some years provided the Steelers can find the guy. It will take longer though if the team cannot.

Does some of this belong to the franchise quarterback

Therefore, was he truly a franchise quarterback

And I’ve asked this before with no response from others, what defines a franchise quarterback

That is fine. Dislike them to your heart's content. All I am stating is that their behavior is a result of their accomplishments in 2021.

I don't want 2 see it happen. The game has grown because of getting away from that.

So because of their accomplishments that means they should be dickheads?

Silly me, I thought a team could accomplish what they did and show some class.

There is this guy they have been able to see next door for a couple of years now...

The Rams pass rush would eat them alive. They were second only to us in sacks and have much better coverage.

Here is a potentially uplifting one: Ben Roethlisberger has more playoff berths, playoff wins, conference championship berths and Super Bowl berths than the Bengals have had......

    ....since he was born.

They have the same number of playoff losses, though!

Bates is the star, Bell and Hilton are both very good.

I would add Apple isn’t great, but is a vet and has pedigree.

    :hmm:

I do not believe you have asked me but I can give you my personal answer if you want. :)

For me, a Franchise QB allows a team to be a perennial playoff contender through consistent, sustained elite levels of performance; from game to game and year to year. Seldom do such players place their teams in unwinnable situations. Should they ever do however, more often than not, such players are called upon and required to turn possible lost causes into heroic triumphs. Within that same token, while the Franchise QB allows a team to be a consistent player in the NFL Playoffs, this does not beget the team an automatic Super Bowl Ticket contrary to popular belief. Even a Franchise QB needs some assistance in getting to the big dance despite that they can lead that team there.

Take Jimmy G for example. Not a HOF Franchise QB but he is one that has shown he can lead his team's to the playoffs when called upon. However, he alone cannot guarantee a Super Bowl Appearance; the rest of the team will see to that. Another is Terry Bradshaw; someone you saw personally. An extreme example but even the "Blonde Bomber" had his ups and downs during his early years. It was not until the likes of Swann and Stallworth coming along that began to bore fruit for what Chuck Noll envisioned Terry to become. Sure, the legendary Steel Curtain and Franco Harris played a major factor in the 70s Steelers first two Super Bowls but thanks to them, the NFL changed. Thankfully though... Bradshaw was much better off due to it; Swann and Stallworth being the biggest beneficiaries due to the rule changes. Yes, Harris was still great but Bradshaw's improved performance was not just due in part to him but also due to the likes of those around him.

In short? For me, a Franchise QB allows for a smoother ride not just throughout the season but also a smoother ride to get into the playoffs. However, never expect the Franchise QB to carry a team to the Super Bowl as such a possibility is impossible.

For reference, see Patrick Mahomes of 2020 to 2021, Jimmy G of 2019 and even Tom Brady of 2018 for reference.

Again, I believe you are missing my point.

How a team acts is of no interest to me; doubly so in your case. What should be the interest for both of us is that how soon will it take the Steelers to find their guy good sir!! Never let small aspects like how a team behaves bother you!!

    All I am saying! :hi:

    Yep.

All the more reason that, should Cincy win, Bates will demand a big payday. Given that the Bengals have over $50 Million in cap space... will they heed to his demands? Time will tell for certain.

Not doom and gloom just realizing how many pieces are missing from Steelers. We aren’t just going to run it back and compete.

Not only Hilton but Melvin Ingram was one of the stars of the game for the Chiefs.
