    Pittsburgh here he comes.. lol.....

    Per Schefter ..

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to trade Carson Wentz in the coming days in what would be the latest blockbuster quarterback deal to rock the NFL, league sources tell ESPN.
The most pertinent questions now become where, when and for what. But it could happen as early as this week, per league sources, even as the Eagles continue to insist to other teams that they would be happy to bring Wentz back to Philadelphia.
The Eagles are said to be looking for, in the words of one well-placed source, “a Matthew Stafford package” in return for Wentz.

Eagles won’t get a Stafford package. Not even close.

He’s younger so that will help but he’s been atrocious and is also dealing with back issues.

He shouldn’t even garner a first rd pick but some damn fool will probably give it up.

A Stafford-like package? Well, good luck and God bless, Philly.

I think they're mixing up which side of the Goff/Stafford trade they're representing.

A Stafford package? Yes! We send them Ben, they send Wentz, two firsts and a third! I love it!

I could see the Bears or maybe the Colts trading for Wentz.

No way, won't ever happen that they get anything close to the Stafford trade. And, I still can't believe Detroit got what they did!

I’m not sure they will get a deal done this off season, who is going to trade to take on that contract? With the way he has played it may be very hard to move him. They can’t cut him either. He might still be there next season.

That Schefter tweet has the look of the Eagles trying to put him in the shop window. A lot of team would probably take a punt on him if it wasn’t for that contract.

What if Eagles trade for Watson? ... because Wentz is clearly Goff in that deal.

I don't see how Philadelphia can make a trade? This would create $59 million in dead cap space for them this year?

    upload_2021-2-6_18-13-25.png

After this trade they would have to have a fire sale to get under the cap.

That’s if they cut him, if they trade him before the new league year his new team picks up his roster bonus and salary. The dead cap is $33.8m if they trade him, so they are only saving $800k by doing so.

Tough sell either way. You would have to be mad to trade for that contract. I really can’t imagine who would want him with the uncertainty surrounding his on field play, and all that guaranteed money left on his deal. Huge gamble for whoever takes him on, and I certainly wouldn’t be giving anything meaningful up for him.

You are right, the new league year doesn’t start until March 17th but trades can be agreed, like Stafford’s.

March 20 Wentz is due his roster bonus, if the trade is not made official before then he will almost certainly stay in Philly.

Media knuckleheads are desperate, it appears, in putting anything out on the wire. Sad.

The Steelers have their 3 QBs for next year. This talk should be relevant next off season.

i wouldn't mind the trubisky addition. depends on what happens with ben next week. haskins being released wouldn't bother me. we already released jt barrett last year, now we get haskins, next we will have cardell jones, before we get to fields. :smiley1::cool:

Ben is not 100% coming back until his contract is understood and tolerable from last I heard. No this is a definite maybe
Mason is on last year of rookie contract so, yeah probably
Dobbs is UFA and who knows if we keep him when new year starts
Haskins is a waste of time as other teams have shown they don't want him so I don't see him around in September. And no, we have no one better in our organization to do something other teams couldn't or didn't want to try doing. We're the last place a former #1 pick should think of going to become somebody that they have shown less than zero they are capable.
In the end, you may be right but then I wouldn't bet my paycheck on having the final 3 QBs to start next season under contract just yet.
On the other hand, we can't dabble in the high QB stakes that is the IN thing these days. We may be forced to end up with Ben and Mason and whoever is left over for camp fodder and/or practice squad.

Until we actually acquire someone, enough already.
