I come for the info and banter; I stay for the humor. Everyone just needs to lighten the hell up.

    Yes

Rookie Keeanu Benton had a wrap on his right wrist, but he is going through drills and team periods, so that seems minor.

To bad you won’t get this since I’m on ignore.

Benton looked great last night, but the ankle injury is a concern. Has anybody read or heard an update?

    Thank goodness!!

Tomlin didn't state his name in the injury report but still, happy to know that it wasn't serious. Benton will be needed for certain for the season.

Thank you for posting. Glad to hear it doesn't seem to be serious. Benton was the best defensive lineman on the field Friday night. Sure, that's without Heyward and Ogunjobi, but it looks like he is ready to play a significant role from day one.

Just a note- that right guard who Benton repeatedly ran through was Cody Mauch, who a lot of people liked in the draft this year.

Didn't either, until I read online that he was already starting at guard for TB this year. Went back and looked at the tape. He was chasing Benton on two plays, got totally run over on another.

Leal and Benton both looked really good. They play VERY different styles as Leal is more of a DE/EDGE hybrid and Benton a DE/DT hybrid, but both look like they are going to be good players.

Highlighting Benton though, man, he OWNED Mauch. Was in the backfield all night. With those two, and a (hopefully) healthy Heyward and Ogunjobi our DL is in great shape.

I hope Ogunjobi can stay healthy after they gave him that multi-year contract, now he's in a walking boot.

Agree, hopefully its mostly just to avoid reaggravation. He has a few weeks before the opener and probably doesn't need to play prior to then. Would hate to lose him for a good stretch, as he is a pretty solid player.

Bad idea to draft someone based on the number of teeth he has. Mississippi State would dominate the first round.

The Tampa Bay Times had an article on Sunday about how bad Mauch looked. The false start and holding calls could be just first game jitters they explained but getting blown back into the backfield on the 4th and one plays is concerning to the Tampa fans. They didn't mention that it was another rookie who was mauling Mauch all night.
