Where exactly in the standings do they place a referee win?
    That’s what I thought

You’re repeating what the announcers whined about. They decided the Bears were getting screwed and stuck with that narrative regardless of what happened later
    • that illegal block was right on the edge of the tackle box and completely legit call. They even drew the graphic as the announcers were crying about the call
    • Rewatch the game. They made the same illegal low block on the left side a little later in the game (no call)
    • No call on Ben getting hit low in the pocket
    • No call on the offside immediately after they got the first penalty
    • In other words it all balanced out

You are right - the refs were calling this game in our favor - but we have been on the other end of the refs penalty calling also ...Sometimes you just get lucky and this is one of those games.

If not for Ray Ray McCloud's blunder, Steelers more than likely win this ball game by 10 points.
No reason to do what he did, either fair catch it, or don't catch it. but DO NOT put the ball on the ground.
Better yet do no put the ball on the ground and let them return it for a touchdown.

Steelers would of run a least 2 minutes off that game clock, even if they just go 3 and out and punt it. At worse case giving it back to the Bears with 4 minutes with a whole field to drive in a 2 score game.

That and Arthur Maulet is god awful.

I'd cut them both, at best margin players, and you can't make huge mistakes when you a margin player. You can't work at my Chic-Fil-A....

Yeah any given week. Fields had been playing much better ball the last 3 games and it showed against us. He has some talent if he can put it all together.

    not often.

somehow, we come out on top more often than not with Refs in Black N Gold. we would be going BALLISTIC here if if those calls were against us last night.

It's funny to me that some people think they're entitled to tell others what to think. Obviously any fan is happy we won.

If you can't understand why some might be critical of the play then I just don't know what to say. It's a message board, where people are supposed to express their opinion. Then you have the opinion police trolling threads bashing people for expressing their opinions.

I've never been a "just be happy with it" kind of person in anything I do. It's all about expectations. If you expect us to barely beat terrible teams in a gaffe filled crap show then I guess you will be thrilled with that and that's your purgative. I'm just so sick of watching us struggle to beat the worst of teams. That was a perfect example of why Tomlin loses these games. We managed drives in the first half with a QB that clearly has issues. That game should have been a blow out. Instead we quit. Watching the plays and the players in the 2nd half it was obvious we quit and thought we could coast to a victory. Luckily the Bears and the Officials made sure we won. It was like watching a kid hit a baseball and then watched the ball instead of running to the base. That's the Steelers.

I'm a huge Ben fan but wow , after watching him live and in person , It's blatantly obvious, he's barely getting it done. But even so we can still move the ball if we are smart about it. I can accept having a limited Ben at QB. He's given the team everything he has. I can't imagine a coach allowing a player to play as disabled as Ben was...but my guess is Ben refuses to sit and his injuries are not something that will get better with rest. Looks like he has nerve damage in the throwing arm. He can't throw deep more than a few times per game. His accuracy is bad. This has screwed up his timing. I think he's lost confidence in his arm. He's hesitating on plays he never used to hesitate on. I'm not saying Ben is the only issue. Our O-line is IMO the biggest issue. The WR's don't always get open...and that happens a lot. When you have a QB like Ben the coaches had to know a solid O-line is essential.

Either winning is not Tomlin's #1 priority or Mason Rudolph is much worse than we all realize.

I want to know where they fit referee losses into the standings, because we’ve had some of those in recent years as well.

Watched the game this morning. The tale of 2 half's. We won so there you go. Positives? Oh yes! Negatives? Yes

Anyone who still thinks Terrell Edmonds is worth salvaging and bringing back next season need to open their eyes. He is beyond horrible. A SS high in the draft.

Najee Harris is pound for pound a Pittsburgh Steeler. Great pick. Add Pat Freiermuth the same. Men among boys. The future looks bright.

Canada's offense was on full display.

And TJ Watt what can you say? Worth every red cent.

I disagree with some assessing the Offensive Line as horrible. That's just not true. Are they great? No. Above average? Sometimes. Average and getting better? Absolutely. They are improving. Growing pains.

Maulet had a horrible couple of plays for sure. The TD who was late to help? The scrub Edmonds.

Minkah Fitzpatrick had a head of steam and looked like the guy they traded a 1st for.

I'm sure everyone was holding their breath on the field goal. It shouldn't have come down to that but it is what it is, A Win.

Their is no way that Ben can be brought back next season. I hope he realizes this.

This is where reality sets in. Anything can happen, but right now this team is far from championship level. Winning games (ideally) while improving every week is where the focus should be right now, and the playoff hunt.

We would be and HAVE but as I said, we have been on the other end of ****ty calls. Every team gets their share of favorable calls and not so favorable calls. Last night was our night to get a little help. I'm ok with it.

Fair enough, but by your own admission we have no business chirping about the ones that "favor" the other side either. It's not how the league should work ."Make up calls" and "balancing out" penalties or even blatant BS ones like last night.

Not at all, I know they got screwed. But there isn't anything I can do about it. Just like when I ***** that we got screwed. I am just saying, to me, it's part of the game. I would imagine every fan reacts the same way? Pissed when their team gets hosed....nonchalant about it when the other team does.

Now You don't know that...Just like I don't know they might have drove the ball down the Chicago's throats then, and broke their backs.
    Neither of Us knows.
I do know You don’t fumble the punt for a Quick TD right after Your D forces a punt.

No type of Win gives me confidence, or a lack of it.
I watch way 2 much football, and I see a lot of teams lose 2 teams You would never believe it would happen 2.
How much did the Confidence of the fans help the Bills ....You think they didn't have confidence going 2 play the Jaguars???? What good did it do??? The team that was crushing teams can't even score a TD

Well the way the game was going I’d say my scenario was more likely :lolol:

But I agree that was a terrible fumble at that stage of the game

I would have been happier if the Vikings had taken care of the Ravens...... in 2 weeks we would have gone from last to first (tied) in the division..... instead the Vikings had to crush my dreams in OT..... in the opposite way the Wild did to the Pens a couple days ago..... Minnesota teams just aren't helping out much I guess.
