So did they change the rule AGAIN since 2010 because Mike Pereira explanation here seems to confirm what happened yesterday was a TD.

    Right call my ass.

And the last pass to Eli was PI so no, Ben wasnt at fault there.

Call it whining all you want but bad officiating cost them the game.

How many of the home field AFC ships have they lost??? A handful... Would we prefer it to go thru the burgh? Yep! Does home field guarantee anything? Nope! They're in, and that's really all that matters at this point. Get healthy as possible and do some damage in the elimination rounds!

2 things lost us the game
going 3 and out with 3 minutes left
not calling 2 plays in the huddle after the overruled touchdown

Like I said before ...one bad call...trumped by a no call. Rogers was held and definitely interfered with...that caused the tip int

Of a pass that should never have been thrown. On a play caused by another pass that should never have been thrown.

    Rodgers was WIDE OPEN

Rodgers had his jersey pulled by the DBs right hand while reaching with the left. This knocks him off balance and catapults the DB in position to make the tip. The refs just missed it. Nothing nefarious, they just weren't in position to see it. If he's not held, he makes the catch, the Steelers win, and everyone is singing the praises of gunslinging gutsy Ben today.

It's important to note that Pereira said "When a receiver has possession of the ball ..."
Establishing possession is the point of debate with the Jesse James catch.
(And yes, I'm calling it a CATCH.)

Anyone who criticizes Ben for that throw, internet poster or media member, is clueless. It was there. You can't even call it threading a needle since the lane was big enough to drive a truck through.

As you should. The VP of officiating did so while explaining why it wasn't a catch.:facepalm:

AB probably wouldve still have caught it, but the refs got to call that. Thats a basic and easy call to make. If you are a fair ref. If it hadve been one of our db's ...the endzone would've been covered with penalty flags. The refs probably would've gotten a couple of terrible towels to throw as well

Amen...Exactly....but, one thing I veg to differ on...the ref on the goal line, had the play coming directly to him. Did Ben fake everyone out?!

That isn't even remotely close to open. The defender has his hand in front of roger to bat the ball.

Because at that point he's pulling the back of his jersey with his right hand and reaching with his left. Picture #2

Just give it about 5 years when Brady is a goddamn fossile and Belichick can't coach anymore. I am going to laugh at those assholes when they start to experience their downfall.

Didnt he do that when first his knee and then elbow touched the ground while in full possession? Rhetorical, I know you agree.

Everyone is focusing on did it touch the ground, who gives a poop, the ball was dead before then.

I have been critical of Ben plenty this year but not a damn thing wrong with attempting that pass.

The Patriots had 4 penalty yards. That's the lowest by an NFL team in a single game since Dec 23, 2007.

    That's unbelievable! 10 stinkin' years!

But, how 4? Didn't they have a false start? That's 5 not 4? Not to nitpick, just wondering?

Well...I don’t. He had to maintain possession through the ground, not just when his knee touched. But I think there’s NO indisputable evidence that he lost control of the ball, even when it touched the ground.
