The whole point was in reference to Wallace "not" signing his tender and dragging it out into the season. If he does that, they will need another primary reciever. Preferably one that has experience and will draw a double team or at least do damage if you don't double him.

    You've got to be trolling.......

If they did that I may have to disown the team for the season!

The team is still loaded at WR. No need for another sign.

Wallace is still on the team; he will play at some point and play hard. A team cannot afford 7 pro-bowl receivers.

This team can have two injuries and still put 2 quality receivers on the field; that is very good. Then there is the promise of the young guys. In a 5 WR set it is expected to see a young guy or 2; everyone starts somewhere. A lot of teams do not have 2 good receivers. Remember past Steeler teams, not that long ago.

Lets let the preseason shake out a little before we go searching
for another WR, who knows we may have a diamond in the rough
right in our own back yard?

Lightning striking like that is very rare indeed.

Lets see over the last 6-8 years they've had Plex, Holmes, Wallace, Brown and Sanders (when healthy). "If" they have to go into the season without Wallace, I'd be much more confident in Plex.

This is getting frustrating. People need to read, lol.

Wallace is still on the team; he will play at some point and play hard.
I'm assuming that Wallace doesn't show up "until he has to" which is what he himself has said, which is what like week 9 or something? If he shows up then he might as well not be here because he'll be nowhere close to football shape (look at Chris Johnson last season after missing all of camp). If he shows up at some point during camp then we cut the vet we signed at practically no expense to us.

    A team cannot afford 7 pro-bowl receivers.
Where the heck did this come from? I specifically said a "vet" because it would be someone for depth purposes, which I've called out several times in this post. Like someone else said, Plax is willing to play for the vet minimum... which I'm sure is true because nobody is going to pay him more than that.

This team can have two injuries and still put 2 quality receivers on the field; that is very good.
Are you insane? Who? If our 5 week 1 is Brown, Sanders, Cotch, Clemons, Maze? HOLY COW BATMAN. That's terrible. I can't believe so many people here are saying "well maybe we have a diamond in the rough." I'm sorry but that's incredibly naive! I'm not saying Toney Clemons can't produce down the road but come on people, he was a 7th round pick for a reason! Yes, guys like Santonio, Brown, Wallace contributed in their rookie seasons but they were never expected to be the go to guy in the offense... They were facing teams' 3rd/4th best CB's on the field.

I think we'd be fine if we break camp with what we have now. Brown will assume Wallaces role, Sanders will fill Browns roll as teams begin double teaming Brown, Cotch can eat up all the underneath stuff, then we have Rainey whos showing a lot of promise, plus don't forget Heath will be seeing a lot more passes coming his way this year and Red is going to get a fair share coming out of the backfield. We have more then enough weapons here. The thing I am concerned about is Sanders staying healthy, really need him to be on the filed all year this season.

Concerns me as well. We have a guy with a ton of potential and speed not too far off from Wallace yet noone is very confident that he'll stay healthy for a whole season, including myself. If he's out for a significant amount of time this season i'll be ready to move on. I hope this isn't the case :praying:
