As I have been saying, they need to advance in the analytics department.
I don't like that stuff but you got to flow with the times.

I mean if I’m in charge I’m going to hire a football analysts that is from the NFL not the NBA. At least try and have the right shaped ball. That might be a good start. Who am I to judge though?

"held an apprenticeship with the NBA as a future analytics star." and was an NFL analytic apprentice for the 33rd team! Doing analytics for the 33rd team in a 32 team league and already has a star future as an intern!

Agreed, may be a good start, but when I was hiring as a manager resumes were not something I put much trust in, lol. '

Thanks for clarifying what the 33rd team referenced. I had no idea (kind of still don’t). Thought maybe it was the team name, 33rd team from the somewhere USA league.

NFL has a lot of catching up to do in the analytics department -

MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies have a 33-person research and development staff, including 14 quantitative analysts. Even now, no more than a handful of NFL teams have more than four or five analytics people on staff.

“My guess is at least half to two-thirds of the teams in the league are doing some analytics-based stuff,’’ Banner said. “But the number of teams that do it really well with a true department that really has a significant voice in the organization is maybe 10 or 12 teams.’’

For the last few years, ESPN has surveyed the league’s analytics staffers to gauge teams’ involvement with analytics. Its most recent survey, released last December, rated the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Eagles as three most analytically advanced teams. They also finished 1-2-3 for the highest level of analytics work and incorporating their analytics into decision-making.

The six teams ranked as the least analytically inclined were the Las Vegas Raiders, the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Chicago Bears, the Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals.

I actually have no idea, lol. Could be just the name of a company or training center who gives these people opportunity to hone their skills. I do not think the stats they analyze really matters as to which sport it is for, or the ones doing it as a specialty. The science (if called that) is taking info finding the specifics for that situation. Interesting to note, Dan Patrick said this morning when he was at Dayton on 1970, the HC John McVay (Sean's Grandfather) used the computer dept there to compile data they called 'tendencies". IDK if he was the starter of this, or at least in the beginning movement, but it has been around for a while.
