When do we do things that aren't needed? If it wasn't needed last year, Ben wouldn't have come out of the tunnel in shotgun formation.

Somehow Jordan Berry always comes out on top. I have no idea how. He is a bottom 5 punter in this league. Yet somehow, he is irreplaceable.

Like I said earlier. I am rooting for the Harvin kid. But that punting motion would scare the sh!t out of me if I was Spencer. It's one thing to boom 60 yard punts on a consistent basis. But if you get one blocked and it costs you a game....

I have no idea if that will be an issue or not. It's just the first thing I thought of when I saw the guy kick. Time will tell. I am looking forward to the punting battle in pre-season.

It angers me that Randy Finchtner was here as long as he was for what seems because he was a Tomlin friend. And the fact Ben liked working with him because he didn't rock the boat. The guy was average to below average at every position he had. The maturation of our QB prospects speaks volumes to this. At least he's finally gone.

What metrics were used to decide he is a bottom 5 punter?

Based on yards-per-punt, he is in the middle (16th, average).
He doesn't get blocked, which happened to 5 of the punters ahead of Berry. (Ty Long had 3 blocks.)

It is one thing to say that you'd like an upgrade, or more consistency.
But not being at the top of the league doesn't put him at the bottom.

 

I think its a great board as no one is making me read anything I don't want to. But that's just me.

 

I enjoy complaining about Tomlin. He deserves it.

 

Ran way to much and no PA while under Center..A non mobile QB can't fake a handoff and then move to a new pocket spot which most times require a fake on 1 side and a spin out and move to the other..A QB needs to turn his back for that ..We all know Ben..

This is why I wanted Dobbs to start the playoff game to use more PA from under Center and to help the OL by changing where the pocket would be..The added bonus was Dobbs was a extra run threat and we could have started under Center and avoided the shotgun snap that everyone knew was a quick pass or a Draw.. This is not the way to approach a playoff game ..

If Ben still can't do PA we really need a multiple QB system no way to be effective when so predictable ..Heck even a mobile QB in the gun would give the O a new look the D would have to at least respect the QB run game ..This is why I hope our new OC has a package for Dobbs as he likes the mobile QB type offenses and we need to use them..

 

I used no metrics other than my dislike of the player. Calling him a bottom 5 punter was just an opinion.
