I could see Ravens doing this, with Lamar in Limbo they could still go to the power game.

Mac I don't care what conference they play in as long as they can play against NFL caliber talent.

Walter Football has the Steelers taking OT Jaelyn Duncan from Maryland with pick #17. SDOT's head would explode if Tomlin made his first pick from the Terps. This would be a round to early for Duncan as most mocks have him going mid to late second round.
Their other picks in this three round mock for the Steelers were:
2a. Antonio Johnson the 6'3" CB from Texas A&M.
    2b. T'Vondre Sweat NT from Texas 6'4" and 340lbs.
    3. Jonathan Mingo WR from Ole Miss
    He's a big receiver at 6'2" 225 and runs a 4.46.

yea but the draftniks slotting them do care. i take most of these prospect rankings with a grain of salt. if you can play, you can play. i don't think many follow the MAC or even the Big 10 as close as the SEC. many of the so called experts repeat what others have said about guys. many may have never paid attention to him before the draft. look at DJ, from toledo or AB. not guys on top of their list. :smiley1::cool:

really wouldn't be a bad draft but we shall see. it's early. free agency could change many things. hated to see we didn't re-sign mark gilbert to a futures deal.

look at joey porter percentage when targeted and look at this kid's. that should tell you something. should this 5th rounder have a higher grade? he does. i like to do my own analysis of these players.

I agree I like him a lot. I really like Gonzalez as well. I have a feeling there is going to be a run on the CB’s early in this draft. I would take either of those two or Witherspoon before Porter Jr. I wouldn’t touch Ringo in the first two rounds if at all. Some of these CB’s get over hyped and it always seems like the ones from the big name colleges. Ringo had the benefit of the top front seven in front of him which makes it much easier on a CB.

Just watched his highlight film on YouTube and he looks good. Great ball skills. And 6’1” too. Steelers love lengthy corners. The highlights don’t give you a chance to see him in his backpedal or making any transitions, but if he really runs a 4.4 I’d like the pick. Of course if he runs a 4.4 with that nose for the ball he will go WAY before the 5th I think.

Won't. They already have Likely who is also a stud. Unless they plan on trading Andrews or something

Remind me of William Jackson in college. My only reservation is that we'd have to take him at 17 ( if he is even there). I believe there are about 7 very good corners. I think Devon Witherspoon and Emmanuel Forbes will be better at the next level. And both can be had at 32, perhaps at 49 for Forbes.

I personally won't take a Corner in the first because of the depth.

Tackle, or Guard. Johnson, Jones, O'cyrus, Skoronski. Pick the best and let's go

I could see them going TE somewhere, especially if they dont resign Gentry. He is not sexy, but has developed into a decent blocker and outlet when needed. Used little, but Conner provides value..especially seen the last couple of games. If he can build on special team value i think he can take a hybrid 3rd TE/fb role.

Man would taking a TE be a waste… really same with center at this point with Cole playing well and under contract for a while. I know FA will change things, but if we don’t end up with an OT/G, CB, and ILB with our first 4 picks were trolling. DL is ok I guess but definitely lower priority than the previous 3.

if we move cole to guard it will help fix the line. TE would not be a waste either, especially this one. he can block very well and is way more downfield friendly for KP then gentry. helps the run game and the passing game. both of those picks. two TE sets with these two TE's that we would have will not only help the run game with blocking but pull safeties and most likely LB'ers away. less coverage on everyone else. takes guys out of the box. pulls safeties away from others.

also there is a CB in that draft. a very good one.

keep myles jack, sign spillane and robinson will be in year two, plus we have russell and egbule as futures picks already sitting here. they will both be 4th year players.
